Plenty of metal in there, just mounted a set. Nothing unique about it.

Well metal adds strength but can't see why anyone would mount anything but a dedicated light binding on a super light ski?

Yeah that whole flat area where the binding mounts has metal, I seen one deconstructed and I believe it was a mesh
