    Permantely Removing Integrated binding rails

So I picked up some super cheap skis to convert to touring rock skis. But they have those marker integrated bindings like this.

The rails are not screwed on so I'll have to shave them off. Been doing a fair bit of searching but nothing has popped up. Anyone have any experience or words of wisdom on an experiment like this?

    Thanks

The rail has little plastic posts every few inches from the rail into the ski. Better to saw than to pry, or just smash the fucking things with a hammer and dremel down the pointy parts. Not real clean, but easy to just sawzall them off.

Yeah I was thinking just using a hack saw for the rough cut and then a dremel for the clean up.

    Pics will definitely follow.

Its pretty easy to pop them off with a chisel, but i have seen the plugs come out once or twice. Which is still fine for shot skis, you might not want that though.

Yup the chisel way worked perfectly and fast. Then a tiny bit of clean up with a file.

    No more of this nonsense

    Hammer Time

Now have some rock/ icy touring skis. Threw some BF inserts in there and will be sharing Vipec's with my BD Amperages...so there is a bit of overhang with the brakes. Might just run with leashes if there is too much dragging.
