15/16 RFV Thread of skiing and stuff...

It's the annual, I'll miss Shredhead at first chair every morning at 1A, and I'll post a lot of shots of me and friends making turns for SkiCo marketing department thread.
And other people will chime in with random shit too... but it makes us all feel more like a community, so what the hay.

We started it off right on Sunday morning. More skinning than skiing, but it was worth it:

They were planning on downloading, 'if they had to'.... and I think they will need to download this weekend..

    From the daily:
Temperatures have also been conducive to snowmaking, and will remain so overnight throughout the week as sunny skies return.

Had the Veterans Day storm produced greater accumulations, crews might have attempted to provide top-to-bottom skiing this weekend at Aspen. As is, skiers will have to download on the gondola after making laps on the Ajax Express and Gent’s Ridge chairs.

“More than 100 acres” of terrain up top will be open, Hanle said.
I was at the limelight last night for the athlete and content crew meetings.. great vibe.

Hopefully they'll open Spar at the end of the day.

I don't know all of the posters here, but I'll be skiing with Greg Hanle. So if you see him, say hi to the fat guy with his tongue hanging out.

Back to the top for the 10" on the Shoulder and incredible conditions all around.

A wonderful morning at Ajax with a good crew. Hopefully the letters to the editor will ease off. The mountains ready to rip.

Whatevskis... it's a decent convo. People have real positions as opposed to the development convo.

What is RFV? It looks like it's in Colorado or something.

I moved to Carbondale this fall and have gotten back on skis a couple times since my spine injury a year ago. Tues morning up at Sunlight was amazing. Fell like +20 times on the first lap, then a few more on the second, but by the third, fourth, and fifth, the muscle memory came bubbling back up from the deep. It's hard to describe how good the "flow" feels, but yeah... it's like a religious experience.

I'm on the hunt for some FGP, low-angle, low-hanging-fruit touring terrain. A couple hundred vert of roadside meadowskipping would be ideal, since I dont have the strength/balance/coordination to ski treed, brushy, or luge-track exits. If you've got a suggestion for non-resort, easy-access meadow-skipping, I'm all ears.
