New snow not bonding very well. Shallow longer running sluffs took most of the new snow back down to stout sun crusts on S facing and wind buff on N facing.

On Sunday a six year old girl, hiked and skied Main Chute, her first time. Wait, I did not say that right, she RIPPED it. She was so excited, I think not that she had skied main chute but her nine year old sister skied it a couple of years ago so she no longer had anything over her. Not going to post their names but if your local you know who they are.

this is awesome...saw a young one a couple years back, maybe it was the 9 year old. Was standing on the traverse and this little one rips out the bottom and was small...im like how old are you..she says 6 or 7 cant recall exactly. I was like AWESOME!!!!

My 7 year old got on skis first time at 2...skied for a couple years couple 5 days each season, and last 2 years has shown no interest...I don't want to push...i would love her to be hiking main with me...someday maybe..

Two years ago that would have been her older sister. If you look back at Alta's pictures of the day from two years ago they have a photo of her dropping in at the top, a great picture. Both skis are airborne, she has the skis tipped to turn when she hits the snow and her eyes are focused like you can't believe.

Yep probably her....good shit. I love when I see little kids rip shit that I watch adults flounder down.

Had one little shit, boy though, when Alta did that jitterbug hike to get to piss pass (low snow year) hiking right up my ass on the bootpack. Dad carrying his skis. I moved out of the way gave him a high five and let him pass. He was like 5 or 6.

Crépuscule Patrouille. Skied much better then I thought it was. Avoided angry ski groomers.Click image for larger version.

You are right, fun to watch the little rippers. Yesterday when I dropped into High Boy a Mom, Dad and young boy were on their way down. Mom and dad stopped to catch their breath, check out the scenery, who knows, the youngster never missed a beat, just kept going.

A little far away, possibly premature- going to be heading to SLC from Tahoe for a Mid March range change. skiing mar 13-15th, or 14 to 16th at Alta / Snowbird solo. Would be awesome to meet up with someone local / get shown around / ski with someone.

Correct. To clarify I wanted a pack cause I'm too much of a pussy to want to shoulder my mantras for that long. And I wanted lighter layers, it was hot today.
Damnit I should have just went. Tomorrow.

Snowbird ski patrol requires a shovel, beacon, probe, and a check in before you head up.

As mentioned snowbird requires check in for twins ridge. It's not just pipeline you can access from that hike. Tons of terrain off that ridge.

I knew they wanted you to check in if you were heading into white pine but l didn't realize it was required to ski the pipeline. Last time I skied it was about 5 years in may and i'm pretty sure we didn't have to check in, but who knows.

You obviously didn't since you didn't know you had to check in. Check in at the gad2 patrol shack for that gate and top tram shack for pipeline.

are you calling me out that i've never skied pipeline? Or that I didn't know there was snow to ski behind AF twins? or are you just a troll?
