I didn't know him, but a lot of people were pulling for a favorable outcome once he went missing. He was well liked. Huge bummer. Sorry for your loss.

As people process this, remember his son will likely read it. Thanks.

Thanks for that reminder to everyone. Trying to help distraught children in these situations is part of my better half's job. Keeping online commentary respectful can only help.

Take a look at the video on UAC. I'm sure he thought the trees offered a security blanket. Some one put up some Pics. I need some stoke.

Anyone lucky enough to be out in this surprise 13" up in LCC? I was gonna head up Grizz and just got too lazy to bother convincing the wife last night, now I'm kicking myself...

I'm pounding coffee and emails this morning, trying to get out the door by 12;30 for some afternoon laps at Alta. That was quite a surprise.

You lucky bastard, I'm flying to SoCal today... but if you're normally at Alta, we should meet up for some laps sometime.

One of the best mornings I've had in a while. Stayed in bounds. Saw some loose wet sluffs by 11:30. A handful of beautiful tracks down Superior this morning.

I concur. stayed frontside inbounds up at the 'bird this morning. there were spots off the cirque traverse where I was in it up to my knees (~18"). so dry. proper ski selection kept me up off the old crust. surprisingly, very little in the way of crowds given the maxed out parking(?).

Dunno who the first set of tracks came from, wouldn't be surprised if it was the guy who skied it around the solstice storm. The next two were some buddies of mine, Aaron Rice (the kid who's going for 2.5 mil human powered vert this year) and a fellow GMDer. GMDer said it was one of the best runs of his life.

Unrelated stoke (sorry for the shitty pics) :

Ah yeah I follow him on Instagram, seems like a nice guy. Think I ran into him once on the way up pole line pass. His average day of touring is a decent chunk of my average season touring

Snowbird was fucking $$$$ today. What a fucking awesome surprise. Didn't anticipate skiing the big boards at all but was definitely the right choice. Holy shit.

Today did not suck. Up until about 1300 there were lift served untracked laps on 9990. Then elsewhere. Where's elsewhere? I'm not telling!

Picked up a guy this pm who just skied sup. Said top was great but bottom getting heavy. This around 3. Pm. Opted for some untracked se facing an hour later. Had a little crust on it you could power through. Imagine it will be present till later in the morning tomorrow.

Good skiing up north this weekend with MarkH. Found some windslab on N facing slopes, not much energy but got a 5" slab to pop. Lower elevation skied really well.

Hey Wasatch sliders. I will be driving from CA to CO next week and will be looking to overnight somewhere around SLC. If you could use some extra beer or grocery $, I could use a warm dry place to throw down a sleeping bag for the night. I'm looking for a place Wednesday night 2/17 and possibly on the way back Sunday 2/28. If you really want to show me around your favorite hill I could probably stay another day. Suggestions on a cheap motel where I don't have to empty the car at night will also be appreciated. Quiet old man - mostly harmless.

Is anyone down to tour this afternoon? I'm stranded in sugarhouse without a car but would like to get out. I flew in last night and my buddy atlskier is working and I'm itching to get out. I've got full bc setup and a good bit of experience in the wasatch let me know if you'd be willing to pick me up and ski
