    Indeed he did.

Hoping for a bit more than dust on crust tomorrow am. If it sets up also likely touring Saturday depending on snow safety.

The ridge on round top shoulder was completely bare last weekend. Hope this delivers and sets that zone up.

Otherwise could be Danberg / Spur fun.

Yep. Just turned to snow. Wind not bad in the village. Kirkwood stepping up with early checkin. Get a workout and a steam and hope for the best. Nothing spinning right now.

Made the last minute decision to head for Mammoth late last night. Crazy winds all the way from Galena to ML. No rain, but the snow didn't start until about 8:00 a.m. this morning. 2-3" so far. Another cup of coffee and I'm headed out.

Utter meltdown in the comments section on Opensnow. Pretty comical.

    This is great:

"Brian, people are frustrated because you set up a blog, even offered an option for a 'premium' paid account, and we expect some sort of accuracy and consistency. I have gotten screwed on your forecasts for years now. You do what many of us do.. Watch the models, give us a 50/50 forecast up to the day of the event, then get it right 50% of the time. I for one am done with your site after this debacle."

Holy shit, it's amazing. Maybe wait until the fucking storm is over first?

... And now they're arguing about climate change. It's just pure comedy over there.

GFS has the bulk of the moisture hitting the Sierra not until 1AM Friday, lasting through mid morning. Not worried. Hope BA did not destroy winter.

BA's been hedging pretty well if you read his stuff carefully, but yeah, according to pretty much every prediction, this storm under-delivered at the front end.

Personally, when I got all excited about the 6"-water QPF a few days ago, part of that was realizing that it would still be pretty decent even if it turned out to be a 50% fizzle. Deal, people; at least we probably won't need to read ice skating TRs over Xmas break.

Poor BA--he's the best forecaster out there and puts his heart into it. Weather is not predictable!

I hope he's able to brush off all the complaints; he doesn't make the weather--the commenters sound like my cat who gets angry at me when it rains outside.

That sounds like it is thickening up, up top. Exactly what we need for a base. The snow that does not really get deep, but sticks to every available surface, then colder snow on top.

Going to be up Saturday, then again next Monday evening. I'll be with my son next Tuesday and so will probably just be on TC, but I'll reserve judgement on this pair of storms until then.

It's been snowing steadily but not very hard all day on Kingsbury. I'd guess 4" of accumulation, but the wind is whipping so it's tough to say.
