Newest in Cloud Storage and utilizing media

Some out of date threads on this, so looking for newest advice/products based on my goals.

With music files, movie files, videos and pictures floating around on various phones, external hard drives and PCs, I want to consolidate and potentially have the immediate ability to upload remotely as well as access remotely. As far as access, It would be nice to have the movies playable on any device (mainly TV - currently have an external hard drive with some sort of player product as an intermediary on a singular TV), and I am considering Sonos at some point and want to know if I can access my cloud via their app to play music. I checked their forums, but I'm seeing a lot on iCloud compatibility and I don't play in the Apple world.

Anyone have all their media shit completely dialed on the cloud, in one place and access it fairly seamlessly regardless of medium?

Any insight on whether Sonos works in this fashion?

Any recommendations on which cloud based device I should buy? I'll probably just go with whatever is the high end storage amount is these days for home users. This seems to look about right: http://www.amazon.com/Cloud-4TB-Pers...29PR4JDXCRB1ED

I've got a Synology NAS system with some big HD's that I use, with the right setup you can do all of that and still have full control of where everything is.

I have a WD MyBook Live Duo 4TB drive which I keep all my shit on. It has an app you can use on your phone from where ever but I generally use a VPN to connect to my home network remotely so I can spy on shit from the security cameras and what not and it just appears as a networked drive.

Plex server and a big wd mybook or the like. Fits kinda perfect in your situation. Should be free aside from the drive. Will take a bit of tinkering and configuration but I think you'll get it.

^ this sounds like your best bet. Plex is very good.
