Found their new slogan, "Trust your farts again!"
"One season per year, the gods open the skies, and releases a white, fluffy, pillow on top of the most forbidding mountain landscapes, allowing people to travel over them with ease and relative abandonment of concern for safety. It's incredible."

    Complex systems need complex solutions.

Popping a pill or any supplement will not cure bad diet choices....ever. You will/may have temporary relief, but if it is cyclical, like you describe, just probiotics themselves, will not keep your issues completely away.

Vodka? It is like flushing all your gut flora out. It kills everything in the GI track.

You will find "proper" food combining along with elimination of suspect foods, and the introduction of more fermented foods ( Beer, Kimchi, Kombucha, sauerkraut, etc,) will actually cure your issues, rather than eating store bought bacteria that might never be given the chance to take hold in your GI track if you keep consuming distilled spirits.

I don't follow probiotics... Buncha overpaid whiners. Amateur biotics are where it's at.

No major intestinal issues here but i started taking pro-15 recently to counteract the daily ipa's that i drink and ive been happier with the morning after poop(s).

Also with the research coming out showing the link between the immune system and gut flora, seems sensible to help em out.

    Schiff Digestive Advantage here.

I like to destroy myself with hot foods and strong drink, so it helps.

I don't trust Dannon, and they make Oikos. Bateria strain and route to manufacture highly suspected as being uncontrolled and potentially toxic ( the bacteria will poop "invaders" you don't want in your body). Most kids and young people can handle the variability, but older folks don't want to mess with the potential rogue invaders. Even eating 3rd world rice paddy poop is better for you than some industrial strain with poor clean room controls.

Dannon contamination? Nice to know vaccines are not the only things that scare you.

Heavy beer drinker here, including sour beers. I can attest to the fact that the lacto and brett in sour beers is NOT good for my gut, personally. However, I have been eating more yogurt and drinking kombucha more lately and that seems to help restore gut health after the bigger drinking sessions. It's weird, because the lacto in sour beers is essentially the same as what is in Greek yogurt. So it must be the brettanomyces that makes my gut go bad. That or it's just the sheer volume consumed.

Weißbier in München = gut Happy.

Saccromyces boulardi... yeast-based probiotic (antibiotics don't kill it) actually works miracles for travel... solid methodology studies backing it up.

I really think probitics work well when I take them for mild IBS type symptoms but I just eat yogurt that isn't overly sweetened instead. Cheaper. I also cut out all artificial sweeteners last September and between those two things my gut is pretty much fixed. They now know that artificial sweeteners change what kind of gut flora you are rocking and although their is not much science to lean on as to what effect these different bacteria have (they think they increase uptake fat absorbtion rate maybe) I had other reasons to quit artificial sweeteners and I have felt way better since quiting.
