I must do this more often(bring both). This yr it's about 70/30 gpo/protest 100/100 ftw

Yeah full on, If I'd had any legs left/more room in the car I would have finished the day with a few Concept laps. They're all just so fun.

so smooth on some sick airs over Rollin Rocks and down The Fan.

    told him Rx ftw though:-)
    Ha rx reppin

Cool to watch that live. Nic Mcnutt was around revy lots last yr. watching him land a 30ft step down switch to cold hard pack like he never left the ground was inspiring. Working on my switch turns now. Frustrating. Think I'm hard wired directional

Fuck ya. I'm torn when I pick the wrong ones, or not the best ones I should say, for the day. Now I have to worry about laps?

Different flavors of best- If its untracked more than 4+ and you own Protests, you should be on them, they are pretty magic.

I go back and forth between my GPOs and Concepts all the time-so fun and very different. Big reason I do this though is because it keeps the 800 foot mole hill I ski interesting. And I can park 40 feet from the chairlift.

So many great skis out there, but I have yet to get on a ski that can absolutley rip, ski pow, trees and technical shit like a champ and than ski groomers with the wife and kids and not demanding at all...! This ski can truly do it all...

And Flowing the wooden veneer topsheets are absolutely giving me a boner... I even have the limited edition wood grain octopus bases and am still jonesing for those... And you played it much cooler than I would have running into Tabke... I had a chance to ski with Todd Ligare at Gordys Camp and switched groups so I could and honest to God is a memory I will not forget... I still cannot believe the level those guys ski at...!

Another Concept vote here....amazing how you can charge and just shut it down to bang out short turns. The waist width skis so much narrower then it actually is. I have not had it in any real pow yet.

It's awesome. the fatter under foot really comes alive. Especially in trees so quick and pivoty.

Have em all one day. I figure like winter and summer tires, my as well get both and be set for tires longer #rationalizingmorepraxis
Mounted up my new 184 piste jibs and took for the inaugural rip today. Holy fuck. Love these skis. That's what I've been looking for in a low tide fuck around do it all ski. I'd been missing my old moment tahoes and unsure of the new triple camber so thought I'd try the piste jibs. Actually reminds me of my old tahoes to a degree. Piste jib rips. Carving up groomers and doing a variety of turn shapes over styrofoam moguls and thru chop. Even found some pow to try them out in. Love having skis that aren't one trick ponies. Piste jibs edge or pivot at will. Was going to tour tomorrow but now I just want to go rip around on these Jibs. Fkn fun shit from the first turn
Thanks Supre C for the heads up and -1 mount rec. u nailed it. I detuned tips and tails fairly heavy. Started feathering the edge 2-3" before the tip rocker ends/starts just to smooth out the transition from round to full sharp

Yes, I'm pretty sure standard layup. They do feel light but pretty sure they're glass. Definitely medium flex. Softer than my gpo's. Flex feels identical to my bc's and yeti's. Has me thinking of building up a ul pair for touring.

Or stiffen them up for a little more zip. I kind of like that shape over the 9D8 and 9D variety for the uses you described above, but I can't say I've tried either of those. Had one day on the Jibs.

Ya could stiffen them up and they'd bust crud better or more stability at speed but the rocker profile works well in 3d and longer radius helps at speed. High speed had to pay attention more but they're fine. Just what I wanted as is. I liked the 9d8 but I found it just to confining for me. Railed pretty good, stable, and fairly good thru variable. Just not as forgiving transitioning from turn to turn. I'm just not into short radius skis and I like rocker tip and tail. It'd be nice to edge perfectly from turn to turn but it's not going to happen nor do I want it to happen . So fun throwing them sideways whenever. Jibs felt right from the get go. 3rd lap it was full on play time

2016 PRAXIS info, mounting and resource guide

Mine were med/stiff and I would go a little softer next time. They're a park/bumps ski. Not every ski needs to flex like a 2 x 4. And a med+ praxis glass ski will still charge as hard as most other offerings from other builders.

Drinking the 4frnt turbo coolaid. Otherwise, I'd already have another pair. If that last referral comes through, I'll jam on for another pair, or wait for the cheap April pricing.

Edit: talking about the piste jib.

I would so have bought this ski, but need it in a longer length... The Concept would also be on the radar screen for me, but the same holds true as I need it in a longer length...

Echo'd my thoughts exactly on my 9D8s. Awesome ski for strictly high speed groomer days, but I almost never have days like that.
The 9d8 would make an awesome zoomer or E.C. ski, but it isn't seeing much use here.

    Exactly

So 2 more days on the piste jibs. I'm amazed how little adjustment it took to just do whatever on these. Can let them go in big turns or snap a quick one off(my specialty) without getting thrown adjusting to snappy little turn. They seem to rebound back slowly instead of throwing me off. I'm actually looking for moguls or funk to test them(strange). They're even quite stable at speed ,inspite of there lighter weight, and I can pivot on one ski or whenever I feel like it. I'm an old fuck so no real clue what the park rats want in a ski. Gots teh twins so I'll b fkn around switch and lil low consequence stuff, but as an all mt screw around ski I'm blown away how at home they feel straight away

Good stoke from Grinch, as usual!
I always liked the look of the Piste Jibs. They seem to me like a skinnier, slightly less burly MVP, and your description of them echoes my feelings of the MVP: Rails when you want it to, high speed limit, does well in funky snow, yet can be pivoted easily.
    Enjoy :-)

Was just thinking yesterday , because I'm enjoying the pistes so much, I should pick up some mvp's someday. Thanks IB

After reading this, I borrowed a friend's Pistes today. Definitely a super fun ski. My two thoughts -- I would go to med/stiff or maybe stiff minus. I weigh 190 lb. And, I find riding center-mounted skis a bit awkward. I think I'd go back -4 from the dimple.

    From the latest Praxis email

"We will once again be offering 50% off on our custom order option through the month of April! This is the best price of the year that we offer on custom skis. Look for new custom options this year like our beefy extra hardwood core, digitally stained wood veneers as well as new shapes, sizes and artwork. Stay tuned for more info."

Maybe not Bamboo, but I gotta say with the all the core options and the veneer top sheets adding their feel to the layup, it's going to be really hard not to the pull trigger on some frankenstein-like creation. Praxis ftw. seriously is a there funner way to buy skis?
