Although, you more than I for sure, can't wait to hear that review!!

Pre-review and thoughts: too long for my weight and short touring legs, and for some of the skiing I do, but that won't be a problem in deep powder. Possibly slightly too narrow underfoot, but interested to see what the classic Protest girth just ahead of the toes brings to the game in this narrower version. I'm looking for versatility across snow types, especially wind funked alpine snow. This purchase for me is an experiment that sits somewhere between GPO CCR and Protest type of pow ski. Been seriously looking at ON3P BG, but went for the Wootest instead. Not as an equivalent, but as the next ski in my ongoing "shape experiments".

Dunno, but I do think that light skis deflect more, and that deflection on a longer ski translates into more rotational torque into the boot - think holding a spanner at the end v.s near the nut (boot). The longer the spanner, the easier it is to undo a tight nut. That rotational torque from a longer ski places greater demands on the fit of your boot. And fit is hard to achieve in a touring boot, especially after a long day with sweaty packed liners [and skinny ankles/calves, depending on who you are].
So generally, I like short skis in chopped snow, especially if I have light skis. They don't ride over chop as well, but they also place less demands on boot fit and shell performance. By short, I mean nose-to-eye height for me. Short skis are also much easier to ski fast-and-nimble in chop: mogul vs GS.
Being narrower [than a Protest], the Wootest will place much less lateral torque on the boot, which for me is a great thing on hard surfaces or really dense 3d snow. I'm not a burly heavy guy.
Life is not lift served.
I hope they work out for you, NB. If not, though, don't swiss cheese the bejeezus out of them and I might buy them off you (for pickup in December).

I seldom re-mount skis. And happy to sell them to you in Japan next season if they don't work out for me based on length. But... if I decide to keep the Woo's and you got cash...
I don't have binders on my 182 UL CCR GPO's right now... and with the Wootests coming I may not get to remount them and probably should sell to part fund the Woo's anyway. I have no reason to sell other than rotating skis through my life. Skied about 60 days. They have their own shortcomings/compromises like any ski does, but is still the most versatile, eeeasy riding, nimble pow ski I have skied since I stopped snowboarding:

Idk, but that sister graphic on those GPO's looked phenomenal, couldn't be all that much different could it? I picked the GPO graphic for my touring rig thinkin it would be mostly white everywhere not underfoot (and I just dig it), but now I'm wondering if I shoulda gone Teresa, those sticks were rad!

I thought they were 185's. checked that ad soo many times. lol. was a good price and same bsl. also dig that graphic. always thought pow boards might be good to have in the quiver when its really deep and super heavy, when you can't lift the ski to initiate a turn, just pivot. this yr we had a lot of that. I thought more old locals would be on a reverse reverse around here. seems they just go home at noon when it gets to heavy. had the hill to myself more than a few days with the protests
yeah, I've come very close to getting the Sister topsheet instead of white.

Yep - the sister topsheet was/is dead sexy. Always safer in the BC with a woman with the group, ya know, eh?

I ordered BC with SCUBA graphic for the wife bc she loved then...then I go to order the concept for myself...while looking (stressing) over top sheets she says "oh I totally would've got the one with the thong on it"....damn that would've been fun!

50% is back for the memorial weekend! just saw the offer on their facebook
The American flag bases are also very cool, almost regret not getting it. Next pair
So in the dying hours of the sale, what would you guys recommend for a ski for europe, 50% resort / 50% day tours. Never ski switch, like small jumps but don't do big drops. Have been on some 174 Freerides and found them great but have the same sensation that Blister described on the GPO in the soft stuff - stiff tail throws me forward and the tips aren't supportive so a lack of focus and I lose the tips. I was looking for something that would keep the stable, directional ride through heavier euro snow but might play just a bit better in the soft.
Was all over the place in looking at alternatives but considering:
The 180 BC (perhaps medium stiff glass layup), 177 Concept, 182 GPO and 179 RX. GPO and RX are perhaps a touch on the wide side. Concept has nice dimms but could be a bit funky on groomers? BC looks like possibly the best option, but I'm nervous about it being too much of a Wailer 112rp alike which I found too turny.
Was also considering the Gotama / old Katana as a cheap alternative albeit that they are a bit heavy, but the praxis build quality make me want to go that route...
Thoughts.
