Well, got the call and recommendations. Valve cover leaking oil on plugs and wires is 100% of the operational trouble. With over 95K miles been looking for an excuse to replace all of that with proper tune. All of the other check points are good to go! Anyway timing belt has just shy of ten years and 95K miles. Agreed to take care of that (full job with pulleys) since she's there and past due time wise. Glad they didn't say that driving it home from the mountains wrecked the cat.. Seems I was risking more than I realized by driving it but a 200 mile tow on a Sunday afternoon when it was still able to maintain highway speeds seemed like it would also be quite costly. Should have it back tomorrow but piling another 2 grand on a credit card ugh. Only other 100K thing I know I should do is new radiator hoses, super coolant, and coolant treatment. I can do that myself. Might also drop in a thermostat. I'm surprised they didn't recommend that, but the coolant was replaced by them at the recommended interval. Maybe hoses last longer these days??
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!
