    I have skied this binding. Let me say a few things;

    -It is a little quirky during a hand fiddling, but in use it actually is super easy to get in and out. The brake retract usually has to be done by hand but it is cool cause it give you the option to just lock the brakes back all day, and then you get super easy ski-to-tour transitions ala the Vipec (the only thing I liked about the Vipec).

    -this binding skis so well. So much tension on the heel. Your ski tails are right with you all the time, easy to drive power through the tail.

    It really seems that it would be super easy to make a ton of boots compatible with this binding, and it's unique interface does not impede traditional tech heel (same can't be said for the Beast, at least if you are playing by the book).

    $300 is a great deal. Knowing brake widths would be good. Finding a boot is harder. But, again, sweet bindings, sweet deal.

    Thanks for the thoughts. Brake width is 104mm. I haven't done any brake bendy on these, but certainly seems doable.

    Yeah, boot options are definitely limited - but the boots can be found at great end of the season pricing right now as well. And as I understand it, there will be some additional boots available in the fall.

    I think Lou did a pretty extensive review over at wildsnow.com as well.

    Addtl boots available, outside of what Scarpa still may produce, will just be the Spitfire, Sideral, and Starlet from La Sportiva.

    Why not Spectre? Who knows, but I would be shocked if it didn't follow in FW1617. Please shoot me for even thinking about product that far out.

    Boot options seem to be the greatest limiting factor. It's definitely an interesting looking binding. Someday I'd like to do a demo on them. Too heavy in general for my tastes though

    104 brakes a true 104 or some wiggle room?

    Without any bending, they seem to be good on a pair of 110mm underfoot skis. I'm sure you could bend a little and/or shave off some of the inside of plastic at the end of the brake arms.

    This deal is so awesome for these bindings it pains me.

    As an additional helper, for those local to Stowe, I have a TR2 mounting jig so you don't need to fiddlywiggle with some bunk paper template or worse.

    The best touring binding around. Brakes will easily bend to 115mm. I can sell some wider ones cheap if that is holding anybody back (thought I needed them, but just bent instead).
