DB, the furberg is family-friendly, and I'll be there early.

That ain't gonna work tomorrow. It's gonna be a reverse sidecut kinda day or at least a furberg twin 157. I might be on a hammock with my banana hanging out.

Even throwing Heavenly in with Northstar is insane. Northstar has nothing like Mott and Killebrew and Heavenly's sidecountry can completely kick ass in a 5k vertical single fall line kind of way.

Reading comprehension much? BC and Vail "compare favorably" with Heavenly and Northstar, as in are a step above, yet a few steps below Squaw, Alpine, and Kirkwood, as well as Breck and A Basin. My own opinion, but anyone that disagrees is obviously very wrong and therefore not entitled to their own opinion. This applies strictly to inbounds terrain, especially not stuff that is skiable a few days every few years. And while I do agree it's more fun than Northstar or Heavenly, which were never compared to each other, anyone that says BC is steep has never skied anywhere that is actually steep.

Anything else that's must-ski at BC? Where are the free cookies?

Van is tall. Really tall. Econoline with a lift and big tires.
Beaver Creek is a lot fun, but they have been missing the snow compared to breck. Whoever said the beav sucks was either joking or stupid.

At beaver creek I would suggest checking out the stone creek chutes. lots of pillows, cliffs, etc back there. Royal elk glade off the top of grouse mountain is awesome.

Stickline can be fun if it's not a field of bumps. Lots of tree skiing at the beav. The glade run off of strawberry park express (cant remember the name)can also be cool. I think thresher glade is the name??

When you ski breck stick to the high alpine terrain, like I have said before. Imperial Express, Kensho Superchair, T-Bar, 6 chair. Breck has been skiing really nice lately. only problem is if it's snowing on Wednesday when you visit you will have big problems with visibility above treeline. maybe it would be a better idea to ski breck tomorrow in the sun?

A-Basin is awesome and easy to figure out where all the awesome terrain is, so I won't give you any advice about that. I don't think the east wall has opened yet, but there is some serious GNAR up there. needs a lot of snow.

have fun in Colorado. looks like you might get a powder day or at least a few inches fresh.

This. Anyone who disagrees likely hasn't skied at all of those places or had no idea what they were doing when they did.

Right on schedule a day after my departure from Telluride and Silverton...it has snowed 30" plus and its still snowing. Me personally, I'd probably go to Silverton than any other place in Colorado. Its a special radical place.

But you did lump them together and they're world's apart. Killebrew Canyon has longer sustained steeps than Kirkwood and there's plenty of air to be had in Mott and Killebrew. Regarding the sidecountry that gets skied only a few days every few years, well, it's good that's what people think.

12 good skiers with a private ship Wednesday would be the call.

Almost 3' at Purg since Saturday night. Snowing hard and knee deep all day long today. 1-2 minute lift lines at the worst, no wind. It is still snowing at our home now and is supposed to continue into tomorrow. Another storm this weekend. Best day of the year. Yes, Purg sucks so don't even consider it...

    1/2 price with your pass.
It's soft and there is snow forecast for the weekend and all thru next week. If you have a free place to stay, I'd say its definitely worth the nine hour drive.

How could that little peace get you fired? It wasn't derogatory. It was pretty spot on. Sorry man, that sucks.

I've found this thread coupled with the where should I live thread funny. We all think our town is good and all justify living there. The terrain at every one of these resorts can challenge people. Park city has short fall lines on it's "expert" terrain. Vail is flat. Keystone sucks. Breckinridge is filled with Gappers and only has good terrain at the top of the mountain. The reality is every one of these places has kick ass stuff and you can have a blast there. Vail has some fun rocks and cliffs. I can show you lines at any one of these places that can result in you dying if you screw it up. We are all so spoiled, or talk out of our ass for internet toughness. Maybe 10% of skiers attack the goods at the resort. Only about 1 % of that 10 % do it well. Hopefully you have a smile on your face. That is all that really matters.

For the original poster, my parents sent me picks from their place outside Telluride yesterday and they had 16 " in their yard and it was still snowing. Looks like you are in the right place at the right time regardless of the resort.
