If you are on Facebook, there is a group called "Grateful Dead Tour Veterans of the 1990's". There have been some clips popping up on there.

Oh fuck. Mid 70s goodness all night long (with HIAB for some spice).

Could they be parsing out the set lists to reflect certain times in the bands history?

All three Chicago shows live on Sirius/XM free for subscribers.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

My point exactly. Last night was all pre-1980 (except HIAB which wasn't first played until 1983).

I feel like Jerry would've spent most of last night staring over his glasses at Bobby in that annoyed way that said "dude, what the fuck are you doing?"

Trey definitely adds a contrast of the young spritely guy with aggressive chops vs the older guys who are just trying to do it as they have always done. I love the boys but I feel that Trey is really exposing their age.

Yeah, age is showing, but that's fine. For me the real issue is Bobby's cock blocking band leader shtick. Someone needs to tell him this ain't ratdog.

And a little less Phil singing. Let Trey and especially Bruce handle a little more.

These guys are approaching or over 70. They look and sound great!

They let Trey open up last night and that was a good thing, but these shows aren't about him. If what he does supports the Grateful Dead, than I'm all for it.

That's my thoughts also. I get that Bob can be a little 'too much', but he and the other three are the Grateful Dead...and the Grateful Dead are old dudes.

I think Phil and the drummers sound great. Bobby sounds like bobby. He hasn't contributed a lot with his guitar work since he shared the stage with Keith and Donna, in my opinion. In any case, I liked last night's show. It was a nice set list and I thought trey did well.

Agreed that they need to just let Hornsby do most of the jerry vocals. He's gone would've been nicer that way.

Last night was fantastic. Really good energy where I was. Everywhere for that matter. Both sets had all the guys goin good. Some fuck ups, Trey included, but all in all they killed it. Seemed to be the consensus of everyone I talked to after the show.

I too was skeptical of Trey in this arena. Not any more! He added what hasn't been there, (I'm a big fan of John K), since the Big Man left us or even a couple years prior! Seemed evident to me that the Phil and Bobby show wanted him to play a support role. That's ok but you could tell Trey wants to really let loose. The cool thing is that it's not in that spacey Phish way and at the same time it doesn't seem like he is trying to emulate Jerry. Different Trey!

I couldn't have had a better time! Wish the train would keep Rollin!

For those going to Chitown, you are in for a treat! Might just be seein ya there

just watched that smokin' Sugar Mag, it gave me chills!
Trey was most definitely the right guy.
i wish this was a 'thing', like they went on tour with this lineup for a few years and whatnot.

Maybe it's me, or just the way things are, but I just listened to that second set and everything sounded flat, old, scratchy, and barely chuggin along. I've seen my fair share of Dead shows, and there was not one note in that set that even made me want to get out of my chair. Maybe it's me that's going dead, but I certainly wouldn't pay any cash to hear the boys.

Too much Phil, not enough Trey in the 2nd set.
