Mounting Line: Dynastar Cham 127 and 97 HM

I will soon be mounting a pair of Cham 127s (189 cm - the only size available) and a pair of Cham 97 HMs in 184cm. I've done some searching and it appears that the recommended line is favored on the 97 HMs and 1 cm behind the recommended line is preferred for the 127s, but there were only a couple opinions out there.

Does anyone else have any insight?

Also, I don't like to completely trust the top sheets...does anyone have these skis and can do a quick straight pull measure to make sure mine are imprinted correctly?

Thanks for the help and advice!

FWIW I like the 178 HM 97s mounted on the line. Plenty of float on the line. But I haven't skied them elsewhere.

I mounted my 97HM on the line with speed radicals and they skied just fine. The Dynastar rep really pushed the idea of mounting -1 from the line(claims that is where they ski best), but that just seemed way to far back for my taste. I've skied the steeps, bullet proof, and deep pow and find that the factory recommendation is just fine.

As for not trusting the top sheets...I think the factory line is marked with an indentation that is made from the ski press. So it should be spot on if I recall correctly. Great ski BTW. Love that thing for glacier slaying.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Seems like on the line is the way to go. I think there was some debate over the mounting line on the 107, which had me second guessing the mounting location on these models. I won't be mounting them for at least a week, so if anyone else has any other thoughts, definitely keep them coming!

I have the 117s in 180 and 127s in 189 both at the recommended line and would not change a thing. Very happy with the Cham series

Another vote for on the line-
Have regular Cham 97's, new this season- Have skied some god awful crust/mank, and was still happy with the mount.

Originally mounted my 127s 1.5cm back and did not like it, skis felt seriously cumbersome. Remounted on the line and they ski way better.

Mounted my 107s 1cm back. I haven't tried them on the line, but love the way they ski as is....

Mounted 107HM on the 'standard' line. Only have a few days on them but they seem to work. I think they miiight ski better .5 or 1 back but I'll never know.

    Bumping this thread-
Was happy with my on the line mount for 184 non HMs. Marker is going to warranty some older Tours with an EPF version, which means 1 cm back, or 1 cm forward.

This is an eastern lift serve ski. I spend as little time as possible on groomers, but that still equates to a bunch of time. Even on a powder day, these will spend a lot more time in cut up crud than powder.

I turn a lot, and quick turns are more important to me than top end speed. Being able to scrub speed quickly in tight spots is important to me. Of all the characteristics of the ski I like, the ability to maintain a consistent arc through varied snow is the most fun. Often, it's one term on polished hardpack, and one turn on joey-dust on the edge.

Seems like 1 cm back vs 1 cm forward will be a pretty significant difference in theses skis.

My inclination is back. Anybody on these think I should go forward?

I would go -1. I think these would ski very strangely at +1 and feel too long in the tail.

    Telemark Mount?

    Bumping this one...

...Anyone mount Chams with mouse traps? Mounting up some 107HM 175

If I was to mount similarly as some older sticks I'd be 3cm behind the line!

If anyone is skiing these with telemark gear I'd love your insight.
    thanks,
    JG
