Who has a nice review on these? The specs look good, solid reviews are scarce..

The shoe looks to be even less solid.
Plenty of failure reports last season.
I barely managed to return mine in Spring despite tried out once.
In the shop they knew about the issues and didn´t make much troubles.
I gave just a fast look to this year´s model and it didn´t seem much different to me, but I´ll be proved to be wrong.

I witnessed an unacceptable structural failure last winter, and have heard of others with the first generation Garmonts. Perhaps these issues have been resolved, but it was enough for me to rule them out.

I just bought a pair of the Celeste II (the functionally identical wimmenz version, my puny hobbit feet needed a smaller shell size than they make the Cosmos in). I haven't been able to ski them yet but I'll try to remember to keep you posted. The only other boots I found of similar stiffness that fit my feet were the much heavier and worse-walking BD Quadrant so I went with the Scotts. I wore them a lot side-by-side with the Cochise Pro Light and locked down in ski mode they were just as stiff if not stiffer, and the cuff is definitely taller. The walk mode is spectacular.

I have owned the first Garmont Cosmo and now own the new Cosmo 2. I had two seasons on the original. over 100 days. the walk mode broke and the tongues cracked. They have supposedly addressed the walk mode. I am not sure the change as it is not visible. They have reworked the tongue. The tongue is now fixed with screws. I think maybe they should of stayed with the floating tongue and the new design. I had to locktite the screws as they came loose. will see how the tongue works. I like the way the boot fits and skis. I hiked 9 miles yesterday in them and they were very comfortable. The power strap could be a little longer and the non velcro part does not seem to be in the correct spot not at the medal loop when secured. Th strap does function fine.
Overall I like the fit and performance of the boot. Scott has been excellent to deal with and warrantied the Garmont model no questions. I posted before I think Scott is trying to make a good boot. In short I would say if the shoe fits wear it.

I am a "wimman" wondering what you think of these boots- I liked the fit at the ski shop but can't find any reviews anywhere. Help a sister out, small-footed-Dan?

I am in my second season on the cosmo 2 probably 100 days. The soles are showing some wear at the toes. Other than that they are holding up well. Have used them on multi day trips very comfortable. Ski them with dps 112 and dynafit denali plenty of boot. Would recomend

Buddy just messaged me the other day telling me how his ski/walk mode exploded after only half dozen days in the boot, this years model. Coupla ski local ski patrollers had last years boots experience multiple failures. ski/walk mode, cracked tongues and i believe cuff rivet.

Has anyone tried the new Scott Superguide GTX? Curious if the carbon fiber stiffens the boot up/ worth the $$??

Thank you for this thread --

I am in the Garmont predecessor to this boot and expected these to be my boots in the future.
durability issues concern me ; I have had None with the Garmonts :
I am in my second pair --
the first pair were in good shape approaching 400 days, and broke down between 400 and 500 days...

as mentioned in an earlier post, If the fit is right, they are a very serviceable boot.
I work in mine. I don't expect them to ski great., but
I value the fact that I can put 'em on in the morning and work all day if I have to ( a change of socks at lunch is Nice. )

    lots of options these days...
