I used to have a pair of the 2016 Bones (mounted at the line) and I liked them, but ended up selling them after I got my 2017 Moment Bibby’s, which allowed me to ski relaxed when I wanted or drive them pretty much as hard as the Bones. Call me crazy, but the Bibby’s were my one ski quiver in the PNW/Utah for a few years.

I’m skiing a lot more these days so I’ve been talking myself into growing and dialing in a legit quiver, and the last ski on my list is a hard snow playful charger (cliché I know) for when it hasn’t snowed in awhile
Try the Rustler 9, a little longer than you would ski the Bonafide.

Wondering if anyone here has tried the 2024 Rustler 11s and Hustle 11s and could compare them for me? I was able to demo the new Rustlers recently and absolutely love them. I thought they had amazing edge grip in a carve, yet somehow still felt loose when I wanted them to. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get on the Hustle 11s. The reason I ask, is because I weighed both the skies today in a 180, and discovered some surprising things. The new rustlers averaged 1950 grams per ski, while the hustles averaged 2010 grams per ski. I’m not really sure how this is possible, because unless I’m wrong, they have the exact same wood cores. The metal in the rustler should be way heavier than the carbon stringers. If the Hustles ski similar to the new rustlers, then I’ll probably just go with those solely because I really don’t like Rustler 11 graphics.

r9 188 is a weirdly good ski for the weight.

    Those weights make zero sense

Agreed, there's something wacky going on with the hustles. It seems the new rustlers are similar to the first gen (17-18) weight, lighter than the 22-23 versions.

Anyone moved the mount point on their Hustle 11 slightly forward? I'm on the 188s, maybe it is just the pin bindings but I feel very far back at the recommended mount point.

I’d start shimming before I punched more holes. I haven’t heard enough info on the hustlers though.

Has anybody been on the new R11 yet?
They start to appear at the shops now and I‘m tempted. I wonder if the 192 is still significantly more chargy than 186. I had 192 and 188 in the old version and didn’t like the softness of the 188.
Does anybody know the weight of the new 192 and the straight pull length? Mounting line remains 8ish, I assume?

I have maybe a dozen days on the new Rustler 11 in a 186, mounted on the line (Blizzard bumps), and am loving it. Haven't seen a 192 yet.

Here's a new 192. Not my sale and I'd appreciate if one of you bought it before I convince myself I need them.

Nice find, but I think you will see some good deals on this year’s version very soon. I’m looking for deals on next year’s redesigned Rustler 11s!

Strongly considering a pair of the latest Bonafide given the current sales, to complement a R11 180cm.

    6' 155lbs. Intermediate-advanced skier.
I really like how well the R11 skis in more than just powder, especially bumps or chunky stuff, so I think I would like the Bonafide.
I tend to ski pretty fast and carve big turns but am not going nuts. I do like to go all over including trees.

I think I want a 177cm and that's what Blister seems to suggest with them (go shorter rather than longer).
Thoughts, 177 or 183cm? I understand the radius is different. so its about more than just length.

Not looking for the typical 190cm+ TGR, don't think that is my style.

I have the Bonifide 183 and Volkl M6 and M102 all 184. In every type of snow and conditions I prefer the M6 or the M102. I don’t dislike the Bonifide, but compared to the M6 or M102. it’s a one trick pony. IMO it doesn’t do anything better than the Volkl M6 or M102

I did read some feedback that the M6 may be a slightly better choice. Are you saying it is worth holding out for and not buying a Bonafide?

Anyway, the Bonafide is on sale for ~$300... and same question would apply for the M6 (177 or 184?). Blister seems to recommend longer on the M6 and shorter on the Bonafide.

M6 has a better grip on hard snow and is easier to ski while for me being as stable. Easier to drift and vary the turn radius.

For your weight I think the 177 in the M6.

Have you been on the old R11 188 in the past? How does the new 186 compare to the old 188?

Thanks for that heads up. Just mounted up the Cochise 160 team for my girl. Those S7 bindings are on their second kid, this will be there last go around...oh the stories they could tell.

My kids skied the 160 Cochise Team and loved it! Great ski for growing rippers. Unfortunately my kids are all too big now. I suspect your girl will really dig it.

If you are happy with the 180 R11 then 177 for sure. Its not just the length, the added stiffness on the 183 is legit. It's a great ski, different than the M6 or R11. I feel its a great quiver ski. One trick ponies are great in a quiver, especially complimenting the versatility you already have in a R11.
a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Yes, five pairs - the 188 R11 has been my standby for years. The new 186 R11 is more nimble in tight spots, a bit less stable in a straight line if conditions are chunky/variable/firm, releases more easily at the tail due to more rocker. It is like a Gunsmoke in terms of rocker profile with slightly more sidecut (2mm wider at tip and tail) and Titanal around the perimeter to make it damper. I love the ski for my size and weight, but I'm still keeping a pair of OG 188's in the quiver.

GregL, did I see there was a 19X of thr new R10 for next year? Have you been on it? If you have, how do you think it would slot in as a replacement for my R9 and ZX108? Sort of give up some playfulness of the R9, a bit of charge of thr ZX108, right in the middle?

I’ve tried to get rid of mine a few times and I just can’t. It shouldn’t fit in my quiver and be a ski I like, it’s nothing like the cherry tip Kastle MX98, Kastle ZX108, or Shiro, but its just so much fun and so dead easy to ski. If I was skiing more, on a second tough winter in a row for getting days in (fuck work), so I’m not putting the time in on the hill, but every time I do I don’t regret grabbing thr 188 R9 no matter if it’s in North or South Lake Tahoe, Summit County, Jackson, VT, or Holiday Valley. I have 4 or 5 family members skiing them now because I have raved about them so much.

I didn't check, and I skied the 180. R9 and R11 are still the highlights, but the new R10 is closing the gap. I think you'll be good with the new Rustler 9, feels just a tiny bit more solid but still totally easy to ski.
