Yeah it goes all the way up to 3600 meters and it might be hard for an hour or so early morning, so not even sure we are going to make that ! Firebirds might be pointless and I was kinda thinking Brahma too eventually

15C and you guys are talking Brahmas? The Euros sure do it differently! I’d be on the R10s for sure (I’ve never skied them, but 102-104mm with softish tails seems about right for slush bumps)!

Talking empty slopes too so full throttle ! Bones or bodacious would be great but I don’t have wider than Brahmas with 2+ sheets of metal !
But indeed that would be a great opportunity to test the new R10

R11s or green spurs otherwise !?!

Bring the Rustler 10's and sleep in.
If anyone sees 192 R10s on sale, please let me know? I’m watching but the best I’ve seen is $600 which is still too high

The ships internet has been acting up all day and I knew I posted earlier, but it wasn’t showing up so I assumed I posted it then closed the app too soon or some shit like that. My bad.

Hum ok. I’ll keep an eye out for a used pair. Thanks Greg.

Skied the 186 Rustler 10 yesterday on soft groomers and pow day leftovers at Whistler.
Wow. What a transformation. This new version is amazingly versatile. Much more composed on groomers with a more intuitive and appropriate turn radius. Easy to get on edge and rail at speed. More stable at speed than I expected. Really showed its chops off trail where it skis fairly loose and can easily handle soft chop. Heavier, setup crud can get the better of them, but throttling back a bit solves that. Reminded me of a more playful Enforcer 104 that is superior off trail and has the “fun meter” cranked to 10. I need a pair of these.

In constant pursuit of the perfect slarve...
Looking at a 186 Rustler 9 to replace my 186 Camox that I've decided to move on from. The Camox has been fun but it's not composed enough when pushed in bumps/chop. I don't think a Mantra or similar is quite what I want, but I'd like to move (slightly) that direction from the Camox. I'm looking for something lively, but a bit more damp and composed when pushed. My shop guy here swears the R9 will be the ticker. I'm 6' 170, ski the Atris 189 as my DD here. What say my Blizz crew?
Current R9 compared to current Camox: lighter, stiffer, shorter effective edge, shorter running length, slightly shorter overall length.
None of that screams ‘more damp and composed’ to me.
FWIW: I traded my 1st year R11’s for Blade Optic 114’s recently. Rocker profiles are almost identical, effective edge is a bit shorter on the BO, but BO is ~300g heavier and a softer flex through the middle of the ski. It’s more damp and stable in chop than the R11.
Yep. I’m on the 190 Optic 104. It feels like “more” ski than the 186 Rustler 10. Less precise on firmer snow, looser overall feel especially in the tail, and more stable/damp.
In comparison, the Rustler feels more natural on groomers/firm snow and are more forgiving and easier to manage. They are the more “fun” ski, IMO. The differences might be less noticeable if I had tried the 185 Optic 104.

Noted, thank you. Damp, for this category, is probably the wrong term. Maybe just more planted and predictable, adding in some metal versus just fiberglass on the Camox. I’ve been Bonafide/M6 curious too, but haven’t skied those in ages. In my mind they’re not as playful/dynamic as I want. But maybe I just need to get in fucking shape and live out my Marcus Caston/Jim Ryan truths
