TR: SoCal and Mammoth BC on Splits

Last Saturday five of us...SFB, WTP, Mr. T, G, and I...and two dogs (Dude and Baily) went up Mt. Islip, a peak a few miles off the closed portion of the Angeles Crest Hwy. We wanted to score Throop Peak, but that will have to wait for another day

Got lucky and hitch-hiked into the area (and back out at the end of the day) with some contractors who were removing "hazzardous trees"

Three of us took our splitboards, but never got a chance to use the skins...too firm and icy, we all just ended up boot-tracking up.

Nice pics - great looking dogs. My Golden has been almost as depressed about our winter as I have. I'm looking forward to getting him out on snow again this weekend.

nice work boys. That is a lot of snow this time of year for socal. Nice you take the pups out on the hill with you. Thanks for taking the time to post the photos.

As for Dude, don't be too upset with Blondie for fixing the young man. It will help eliminate a lot of problems in the years to come disease wise. No joke.

No pictures of Mr. T and the Explosiv 2s, he must have smoked all of you on the descent. Ha. Those skis rule.

Mr. T is a pretty sweet skier. But I am always too busy riding to get photos much on the way down...remember the bc we did (Pete's Dream) and how none of us got photos of the ride down? I suck at getting pictures once we are moving
