No. I guess I didn't explain very well, but I'm not sure I understand it myself (there's a significant language barrier). They put the kid on the toilet, and then pull them off when they've done their business. Not sure of the logistics, and the kid still wears diapers at night, but most of the kids I've seen over there (Czech Republic) are potty-trained by right around their first birthday. Mrs. Awesome says it's because they don't want to pay for diapers.

It's worth nothing that the mothers have 3 years of paid maternity leave, so they're around all the time to monitor this stuff.

What a dick... leaves the doors and windows wide open with the AC cranking and it's 116 out, just to run up the electric bill.

Pacific Heights is to rental property owners is like Jaws is to ocean swimmers... scary shit.

I just had to boot our cabin renters who were giving themselves an extra day. They had paid for three nights, and when I got here, they were all like, "hey, we paid almost a thousand bucks!... we should have more?!" I just handed them a copy of the signed contract and said, sure... $200 cash and you can stay another night.

Fortunately, I had four men and a giant excavator in the driveway to begin three different projects, so they were seriously outgunned. Woman was fat/nasty as f, and if the dude touched me one more time, I was going to smack the asshole... lol.

My ex-father in law owned a legit ghost town here in Montana. Old gold mining town from the 1800's. Some hippy moved into one of the shacks and wouldn't leave. Ex- FIL was a mean drunk so he showed up with a D-8 Cat and bulldozed the shack.

So that is a fairly common practice apparently in SoVt. My buddy owns a few buildings in Brattleboro, Wilmington and Bennington. People rent apts with no intention of paying more than a few months rent and know it can take up to two years before they get kicked out……then they just move on to another sucker landlord. Delightful folks.

After the economic downturn there were so many units in Vail held by the banks they just took over utilities and never checked on them. Quite a few people got nice free ski units by taking down the signs and picking the locks
and telling the neighbors they picked em up for a song.

Yeah, this is exactly the shit I'm talking about. I don't understand why this is the legal situation.

A friend of mine is building a beach house. 1.7 for just the lot. His contractor had to hire a night guard to keep squatters from setting up camp at night. Apparently it's becoming a problem in beach towns.

You think they post asking for slumlord advice on TGR because they are rich?

It's not legal. Which is why they get evicted. Eventually. There's likely more to the story.

I think AD is talking about the lenient laws that allow squatters to way overstay without paying. It takes so long to evict someone, that it can cause some serious cash flow problems and drive some owners into foreclosure.

A bad tenant or two can make owning a multi family hell. I know a couple who've lost buildings because of them. They know how to take advantage of the laws and milk them.

I love how people think evictions are just easy peasy.

I think it's the process by which the law is applied and enforced.

My cousin is kind of a hardass. Almost certainly some kind of a gangster but he doesn't talk about it and we don't ask. When the tenants in one of his houses refused to pay, it mysteriously burned down. So did his restaurant after he got sick of running it. Odd.

I saw this chick yesterday that looked like she did some serious squats. Maybe she is Griz soccer. Pretty hot. Too bad she was with some dudes.

A squatter has moved into an old abandoned shack just down from me. I called the owner to let them know and sent out a group text to the neighbors. One neighbor has gone full on bleeding heart and wants to feed them! WTF? I told her "DO NOT FEED THE SQUATTERS!" So now she wants to reach out to them and help them find resources. Again WTF? They broke into and entered someone elses property, she just doens't get it despite my explaining to her how they have and are committing a crime.
