I was just in Chicago for 10 days and didn't eat any Deep-dish. I did have some great Swordfish though.

I'll join. As far as pizza goes. I make a pretty good vegi pizza at home. But Base camp pizza for best pizza here in south lake. As far as N.Y. vs Chicago style pizza NY all day. Let's not get started on fish tacos though.
Ill be game to give a pair of rock skis a decomposed granite base grind if we get enough snow.
I hope to progress from pizza to French fries this winter and hopefully the toppings are always deep.

For pizza in Reno, I've been pretty impressed with South Creek Pizza in south Reno. Wood fired thin crust. Fresh, quality ingredients. Very cool, friendly owners. Always have great beer selection both on draft and in bottles.
Since we're talking east coast vs. west coast food items... are those lobster rolls at that place on West River in Truckee any good? I keep meaning to try them. I'm not expecting them to match the rolls I get whenever I'm back in Maine visiting family, but hopefully decent?
Anyone going to the Sacramento premiere of Higher on Thursday?
((. The joy I get from skiing...

Morgan's Fish Market is alright they try to put a Cali. spin on New England. Lobster rolls at McDonalds back east were better.
Lot's of very good fresh west coast seafood to choose from. Pick your fish, pick seasoning, then pick how they cook it. Unique to me.
Good Thin crust pizza in Reno try Nu Yalk Pizza on S. S. Virginia. They even have attitude, assholes! Jeter Sucks! Go Sox!
I like Golden Flower Vietnamese behind Circus Circus. Gold & Silver Diner for that throwback feel. What do ya need to know?

I know. Nothing at all like ex Californians living east when they start talking about Mexican food and fresh produce.
And just to be clear, Chicago is not on the coast. It is the in the mid west.
Dude, you'd seriously eat a crustacean that has traveled 3000 miles? Good luck with that.
On a non snarky note, yay, it is raining again!
Nice to see that rain last night in the bay. 2nd heaviest rain I've seen here in 2 years.

Can see the weather from Carson valley. Heard there's a flash flood warning for the king fire. Kinda good news, I guess.

A friend of mine who lives out here but grew up around New England had a fresh batch sent overnight from Maine and they were damn good. I don't want to know how much he spent, though. So it can be done. But I assume the only places out west that serve them like that are $50+ plates at nice restaurants.
Burlingame in the warehouse district.
