I'm guessing the camera was mounted on a road bike? Ridden by a very good friend?

Wow - how fast were they traveling? 30-40mph?

Yeah, it's hard not to do 40 on a road bike in places like that, and, well, we see what happened to the roadies. Of course, let's watch them mix it up with TDF downhillers.......

I doubt it was another skater as the camera didn't seem to change direction the way it would if the cameraman was sliding around the corners.

Well except anybody as skilled on a bike as those dudes are on skates would BLOW by them. Also bikes seemed to know they were coming judging by the way they all stayed on the right hand side of the road. Pretty sure that is Col De Tourmelet?

Filming is usually done by a guy on a luge, they're closer to the ground and much more stable. And they go twice as fast...
There's a Swiss guy who has been at it forever and has shot (and raced) some of the gnarliest stuff in Euroland. Yvon Labarthe. Check out his videos if you have time to burn. This one is a recap of his last 15 years or so... Of note, alpine roads in the nude at the 5 minutes mark, plowing through goat herd at 6:30. Dude is a nutcase, his PR is 140 KPH on a luge, that's close to 90 MPH...

Edit: looks like he throws down on skis and snowboard too. Good man.

Yeah, good bet the bikers were part of the act and forewarned as they were sent ahead.

I really doubt it, I've passed plenty of spandex road bikers on downhills (Cypress and Seymour Mt.) and don't think I've been passed by one… and these two are far better than I am or will ever be.

The final pass is the giveaway. You cut the corners on a bike descending, not ride the outside. Unless they were total Freds, braking most of the way. Which is possible, I suppose. But 90% of the riders who would descend that famous col are faster than that.
