Pound town is often located in the middle of the bed too...

    True dat.

All things considered, I was happy with my Saatva until very recently. Seven years for $1283 bucks and now a deep discount on a new one seem fair to me.

Did the under-bed monsters invent that? They've been looking for a way to get us since humans invented covers to tuck our feet into so they can't grab us from under the foot of the bed.

We evolved to sleep with our arms in a hole? I’m dubious

Actually, we evolved to sleep in tree forks, but a lot's happened since then.

ps: A someone who has upper spine issues (Thor/cirv), plus shoulder bone spurs, I actually find this attractive.

It has been a year or two since we bought our Saavta hybrid and every night we both say how comfy it is. Best bed I ever had.

KQ--if your arm and/or shoulder are giving you trouble sleeping on your side, try putting a folded towel under your armpit to take some of the weight off the shoulder. (The weight is transferred to the ribs.) That's how we position people on their side for hours for lung surgery. I googled but couldn't find a good picture to show it.
Another thing--if the hand gets numb at night, especially the 4th and 5th fingers, it's often blaed on the shoulder being compressed but often it's caused by sleeping with the elbow bent sharply, with stretches the ulnar nerve at the elbow. It's easly cured by splinting the elbow semistraight with a pillow.

Cheaper than a mattress with a hole in it:
    https://medcline.com/products/medcli...RoCUZMQAvD_BwE

Used one of these for a month or two when my heartburn was causing problems while sleeping. They are pretty comfortable for the fact that you are sleeping on an incline.

Asking for a friend, will the hole fit a 3' bong and a gun?

    And my phone.

    Still asking for a friend.

    And my tv remote.

And a cold spot for beer.

I don't need a mattress but I could be persuaded to get myself a new pillow. What are you all using for pillows these days?

Was gonna start a new thread but it seems like all the savvy mattress shoppers are watching this one so have at it.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!

Consumer Reports just reviewed mattresses and pillows. The pillows they liked are the Coop Home Good Original and the Sleep Number Comfort Fit Ultimate. They also listed the Rest Haven Memory Foam as their cheap pick ($25 for two!).

Very interesting; might give it a try, unless a miracle occurs and I can schedule my hiatal hernia surgery before 2025.

Thanks for the insight but no... no problems with my shoulder or arm. For the most part I'm a back/front sleeper but I do some side sleeping. I guess I'm all over the place adjusting as I feel necessary or as the cats allow. My biggest issue is hot flashes. Now if you could find a fix for that - something that isn't a drug or hormone that is going to kill me I'm all ears.

I only posted the bed out of curiousity to see if anyone's tried it. I can already see so many things about it that would not work for me like the fitted sheet (you have to buy their special ones) that I'm willing to bet isn't as snug as I would like. Also I could totally see myself trying to get out of bed and placing my hand over that slot thus slipping down when I try to push off. Interesting idea but not for me. Still loving my Beautyrest Black after 10yrs.

Bringing your own pillow on road trips is always a great idea - you don't want to know what those hotel ones look like under that bleached white case.

I think the highlight of this thread belongs to Benny Propane. His story of the movers trying to fit his mattress through the doorway was amusing, with a slight hint of racism. And it fixed his mattress.

Dunno. I thought he kept the old one.
