Casper seemed really neutral and clean right from the start, no noticeable fumes or smells at all. I really like ours. The bed at home is a tempurpedic and I wouldn't say one is better than the other. The casper is a little softer at the surface with a little less internal give (you don't sink into it as far). Sleep well on both of them.
I'll second that. The casper had a slight scent right when we unboxed it but it wasn't particularly bad or nauseous. After a day I couldn't smell anything.
FWIW, I slept on a Tempurpedic last night while house sitting. I'm not sure what model it was, and perhaps it's subjective, but I didn't find it anywhere nearly as comfortable as my new Saatva.
I just looked at a Bob's Bobopedic firm mattress. It was pretty comfy. Does anyone have any experience with them?
KQ: Thanks for the review site.
We wound up getting the bob-o-pedic foam firm. It smelled a little for the first day. We have had it for about 3 weeks and is comfy so far.
They make it really hard but it's definitely possible to compare. At least in the Beautyrests, it's easy to find the thickness and a breakdown of the layers in a particular mattress. Example-

It's clear that they're the same mattress, go elsewhere if the salesman gives you shit about price matching. We saved $800 on our last one with a little bit of internet detective work.

I just pulled the trigger on a bedinabox.com memory foam mattress. It cost me double what I have ever paid in the past, hopefully it'll be worth it. Highest rated brand on sleeplikethedead.com and overwhelmingly positive reviews everywhere else I checked are what sold me.
^^Nice. I am stoked, we were way overdue for a replacement.
With & on a (new) Englander. Now on a Staava, no toxic flame retardant?
So anyone that is on a Casper for longer than 10 months? I am wondering how they hold up long term. That is one of the complaints with all-foam constructed mattresses.

Not sure if this link will work. Bought the queen mattress a few years ago and it's great. Came in a normal large square box all shrink wrapped. Don't use it anymore since I got my king size last year but it's our guest bed mattress now and people love it. For $359 memory foam mattresses can't beat it
Finally bought a Casper. I've been really happy with it for the three nights we've slept on it.
Mrs. Kevo thinks it is too stiff. We'll see if she comes around in the next 97 days before the trial period ends. If not, we may end up with a sleep number.
I'm about to order a Casper mattress. Anyone have a referral code?

Just found out that there's a Simmons outlet near us so we went and got a Cal King sized Heavenly Bed (like you find in Westins etc for $2000 or on Gilt.com for $1500) for the outrageous price of $300! Ha! Box spring thrown in for free.
I've never had a bad nights sleep on these things and I am so happy to be rid of that spine crushing SelectComfort.
So damn happy.
I still call it The Jake.
It's time. On a 10 year old Ikea cheapy. I'm a side sleeper and my co-worker is too. He said his tempurpedic changed his life, but that's a little more than I want to spend. Any more feedback on the Casper and Bed in a Box? Those seem to be the highest rated alternatives.
maybe just sleep at your co-worker's instead of your place all the time?
It's funny you say that. I told him the same thing. He wasn't going for it.
Costco memory foam. $800 for a king, just as comfy as Tempurpedic.
I literally today just pulled the trigger on this in a queen. Hope it all works out, but this joint has killer prices, free shipping, no out of state tax, quick delivery and if I have warranty problems I'll go right through the manu.
