Right on guroo, I enjoy daily show, but colbert shtick was brilliant. Last night's word was pretty amazing the list of past guest that showed up to sing was impressive. But I thought Wednesday nights show was funnier.

That looks like it may be his family (Wife and kids).

Personally I thought the whole last week was a bomb. Last nights show particularly so except for the finale which was impressive. I actually think Stewart is funnier and more creative, but everybody like their comedy differently. I won't miss Colbert, though I might DVR some of his shows to see how he does without his conservatard shtick, which got old quickly, but at ties was absolutely brilliant.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Love that song. Always makes me think of nuclear annihilation in a good light.

If you guys haven't listened to the Smartless podcast episode with Colbert as the guest, you are really missing out. Hysterical.

Either I have really bad luck or they all suck, every time I try one it’s painful. Letterman was usually fairly entertaining at least. I wish Craig Ferguson or John Stewart would come back.

I think Kimmel is the heir of Letterman/ Ferguson type late night monologue. He’s definitely closest to their vibe and less smarmy than Fallon and not trying to be smart like Colbert. He’s also the most natural, un-obsequious interviewer imo

Agree. He's currently the only one who isn't completely insufferable. And only by a slim margin.

That time when Jon Stewart single-handedly destroyed a popular cable news show and led to it being canceled.

Destroyed? Or just knocked down and rebuilt in a new form?
The disappointment isn’t so much in the BS that is spewed, as in that is could be so much more. But it is just mostly unwatchable fuckery. Gets exhausting reading between the lines and hoping to have got it somewhat right. So I just don’t.

Jon Stewart didn't change the state of discourse on cable news networks. But he is widely recognized as being responsible for Crossfire being canceled.

Destroyed. That was a dagger in that version of crossfire which was doing fine up until that point. Tucker was in the wilderness for sometime afterwards until he realized leaning even more into crazy kookville could be successful

Agreed. Tucker just needed someone to give him the platform to unleash the ultra crazy.
