Yes, but did the Ents dance?

As deft in your observations regarding my tone as Colberts oeuvre then, huh?
Maybe it wasn't groundbreaking but I'll bet this: I don't watch as much mass media as you do, so there's a chance you're more inured to these performances.
So school me; show me one that's as scathing.

I thought it may be sarcasm, but it can be hard to pick up in plain text on a screen sometimes. I usually defer to emoticons for clarification.
Possibly but then again, I don't really know how much you follow news online, tv or radio so I really can't say.Maybe it wasn't groundbreaking but I'll bet this: I don't watch as much mass media as you do, so there's a chance you're more inured to these performances.

I did say, "Scathing? Maybe." but then again, that really wasn't the point was it, we were all ball talk.

I still call it The Jake.
OK...was Imus disrespecting the office?
Maybe he should be on Late Night? Or does Fox have his nuts all bought up? Classy guy, Imus.
Anyway, back on point: I don't watch tv at all. Really at all. So all this shit is moot for me.
Maybe Colbert has run his schtick into the ground and yeah he's partisan, but he always seemed like a sharp guy, much more so than Letterman ever was.
Letterman was weird way back when he had Andy Kaufman on, back when SNL was funny, when Python was on TV and Benny Hill showed boobs.
Obviously that age has passed.
I guess I appreciate the edge that Colbert brings. It makes me all dewy eyed with reminiscence.

imus v. colbert is not really a good comparison.
They should just go all the way and invite Howard for the next dinner.
i know, but some people might get confused that imus was actually doing anything but riffing his usual asshole self v. the craftsmanship involved in colbert's performance. of course, the helen thomas thing at the end was gold.
Colbert is a riot. If you think he's not funny because he's poking fun at your politicians, maybe you take your politicians too seriously.
Living vicariously through myself.
what's amazing is that colbert and stewart made predatory politics funny to the slightly above average idiot for so long in part by hiding the hypocrisy of supposedly more intelligent "progressive/liberal" morons who adore them. in general they're part of the problem, too, because their real and honest is only slightly more real and honest than the people they ridicule. which is to say they're full of shit.
i say that having watched each of them maybe twice and being tired of it at the beginning. clever faux counterpropaganda. i except colbert's shredding of bush in person.
that just goes to show the degree to which americans live to ridicule their peers for being basically the same way they are -- stupid ignorant fucks. they can do it for years. at least until it's way too late as we can see.
Really, how can I verify and how can you prove if nobody can hear what you said?
We can read what you wrote but none of us know what you said.
Now let's get r3333333l s3rious about this shit.
And don't tell me I n33d some fucking emolickons.
