North Face Powder Vest vs Dakine BC Vest?

The Dakine BC vest can be had for a reasonable price this time of year, anyone ever handle one? Does it seem pretty durable? The Dakine avi tool pocket is enclosed unlike the TNF Powder Guide, which makes it more stealthy / less Saucer Boy.

Oh, this is the worst-looking vest I ever saw. What, when you buy a vest like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?
Oh, it looks good on you though.

Wary has a nice one for a good price, and they also have an abs vest.
Dont limit yourself to the big name company products.

I have TNF and dakine. Yes TNF looks better but avy pocket (shovel) always fills with snow. Also no true bladder pocket so you have to jimmy rig it. For the money dakine has been fine. I don't care how you think I look I know I am a better skier than you
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

FYI, the Dakine vest has been surprisingly popular according to other retailers I know. One of the big things highlighted about the upcoming 14/15 version is that it has quite a bit more mesh than older versions allowing for better breathability. We'll bring in a few next year and see what happens. I also think that an item like this is much more about function than form for those buying one.

Forget the backcountry, I want one of these so I can carry all the shit I need to ski with my kids. Dedicated snack pockets for goldfish, gummy bears, and pbjs, spare mitten pockets, neck warmer pockets, and a spot for dad's PBRs. I'm not even joking. If a pic gets posted in the gaper thread of a guy rocking a dakine vest on the magic carpet, it'll probably be me.

So I just sold TNF and dakine. Kept my Ogio. Bought closeout WARY MTN Vest. pretty sweet design. The design is simple and yet has a lot of features. Shame they are going out of business. A lot of pockets, holds bladder and has nice back pad. I like simple ski carry and removable shovel pocket. Very light
