I know the title of the thread was TLT vs Spectre, but the Spectre is not intended to "compete" with the TLT series. It's supposed to be in the Maestrale or Vulcan category, what the Euros call "free touring." This category represents a large chunk of how North Americans ski tour-slower pace, bigger skis, slowish transitions, etc. Sportiva's Spitfire and Sideral compete more directly with the TLT series, drive slightly narrower skis, have two buckles, lighter weight, cuff lock integrated into the top buckle, etc. That would be more of an apples to apples comparison.

I get your point, but I cross-shopped the two for a reason. See post #1 for deets. Sideral may be more like the PDG, but I've never given either a real look because I can't wedge my feet into any of those glass slippers.
