Totally, if anything the roadtrip made appreciate how well CDOT does with how little money people are willing to give them. Those tight fisted Arizonians must be giving their DOT just pennies to spend.

We love having good snow years. But spring recovery definitely more involved the more snow we get.
Eastbound, the bridge at exit 216 just east of the tunnel.

Ah, yes that one needs as well. They have their plate full. That bump in the tunnel might be more than cosmetic. Right where it is is a definite line where the water is percolating up outta there.

How do they get to grand county by going over Hoosier and down 285?

We saw a car on the way up the pass last weekend from the WP side on the 1st switchback with *two* flat tires on the driver's side. Those potholes are definitely a menace.

Any of you punters catch air off the two rollers inside the tunnel I strongly suggest hitting them at 70 mph and hope not to kiss the tunnel wall

At least everyone who works for cdot has a nice new vehicle and a cushy new office

No need to fix potholes that's not what cdot does they are to busy staring out the window adding up the days left and how big a pension they will get

    338 Ops and maintenance openings
    127 other job openings

I mean, I 70 is in ROUGH shape. I get it. I'm sure it has nothing to do with not a single transportation funding tax passing.. or difficulty staffing.

    Nothing.

    That doesn't fit FF's narrative. He's got a hard-on for CDOT.

    Let's see

Lower pay scale than the same civilian job

Poor leadership from the top down

No 3rd party oversight or accountability

Bloated management upper level jobs that serve no purpose other than to work less and pad retirement

Spineless politicians who refuse to add a use tax to electric vehicles who can't propse a gas tax increase because they are scared but yet can't stop themselves from any sort of green or affordable housing tax?

The 1 inch overlay fix all isn't working but the always shiny 550 brand new crew cab flat bed that drives around summit county all day aimlessly is winning

You CDOT apologists that claim no money must have forgot the $45million got appropriated from reserved. It Colorado. We build are roads like shit, we maintain them like shit, they go to shit and we are so resigned to it that we make excuses that it is OK.

From Berthoud to Granby there are car eating holes in the road. It is a safety issue. There have been multiple roll overs and head ons. Everytime you drive between the Jane and town there are disables vehicles.

Here are some numbers. Also, much of the repair work will be done with contractors. I know Grand County has private contractors on some of it's routes. I don't know if this is good or bad but it's one way to address the employee shortage.
