Which is why she is the right person to give the perspective of the typical Colorado punter. Everyone here is one step down from the best skier or best parent on the mountain so our perspective isn't gonna sell anything but a professional level guide book. You need something for the general population of stuck in the lift line, meet me at the brewery, pickup truck with bed cover, Instagram worthy, trend following dipshit that lives here.

This sums it all up. Skiing is easy (and fun!), it is all the peripheral shit that makes it suck.

It was the sheeple, not the bovine that caused the closures.

I spent an hour on our beloved I-70 from the 32nd street exit to Downiville yesterday morning at 8am. Stop and go from Floyd Hill to Downiville. In this process, I wondered the cause of the delay. No new snow, not a holiday weekend, no major road construction. Huh. Could Friday be the new Saturday? Is there a boat in the right lane? A broke down VW van? Could it be a jacked up big rig driven by a jacked up driver or a kid who is new to driving big rigs? Nope. It's 3 big horn sheep. Not on the road. Not on the shoulder. On the sheer cliff to the side of the road without rock fall. With their creepy ass demon eyes. The Wisconsin plated car in front of me stopped for no less than 30 seconds to admire this natural beauty, and I still couldn't figure out what his vanity plates were supposed to say.
But the great snow in the north facing trees on BP made up for it. I hope that they get the goats out of there before my Sunday morming drive with my boy tomorrow.

    OFFICIAL I70 BITCH THREAD....

Sounds like a complete shitshow EB to the tunnel this evening. Ppl stuck for 3.5 hours between Silverthorne and the tunnel? Taking shits on the side of the road? [emoji23][emoji23]

Edit: emergency road construction at that first bridge east of the tunnel. There were some massive potholes there for weeks, maybe a month. Great job CDOT.

Looked like that at 4:15 when I skied down Tango. Assumed they were staging traffic or some shit. No traffic EB til folks looking at buffalos. Left the hill at 445 and was home with a stop to pickup dinner by 6.

Loveland is the only semi-reasonable place to ski along 70 for a Franger IMHO.

Plus skiing was damn good yesterday.

I tried that a few weeks ago. Didn’t leave Winter Park until almost 6. Still backed up over the pass and took two hours to get to Empire. At least I got to pay way too much for burgers almost as good as the frozen pucks from Costco.

You can stop pretending Loveland is some secret locals hangout, it hasn’t been for almost ten years.

    OFFICIAL I70 BITCH THREAD....

I was reading online that people were stuck for 4 hours between Silverthorne and the tunnel. No warning on the electronic signs by CDOT. Vehicles were running out of gas, and people were seriously shitting on the side of the road [emoji23]
That bridge apparently had a hole in it after weeks/month of neglect. You can’t make this shit up. CDOT is fucking horrendous.

If you're asking about Loveland, I'd say it was pretty good...

I heard that there is a saying about driving and circumnavigating Iceland to the effect of: if you are half full, you are empty. It’s based on the availability of fuel stations. Might be good to strategically put that on some of those VMS signs,

Best place to leave this I guess

Fuck golden colorado place is one step away from boulder remember don't boulder my golden? Too late every puffy coat wearing bearded millennial has cunted that town up there isn't enough breweries and distilleries and electric car chargers to suck up all the self absorbed tools who hang out there on a weekend afternoon as they trade war stories over slaying the pow and getting raped by i70
