Granby is only a Level IV Trama center. St. A's in Frisco is Level III. So yeah, you need a helo or a fast driver is something goes down. Proximity to advanced care is a real risk in rural areas.

Sure, make sense. And days they can't fly are often gonna be the days they're fighting to keep the pass open.

Good to know it is that level of priority.

I just can't see how Danno's kid could not possibly be showing flu symptoms Thurs. night that only a responsible parent would like to address for the good of all of the children.

I also can't imagine driving up I-70 on Friday. Shitshow is going to be an understatement. Everyone already got the memos from multiple departments.

Take her out of school! Tons of kids have been out sick (mine included), doesn't she have a sore throat?? [emoji2957] I would love to be going to steamboat this weekend. Be safe, have fun!

I really hope Danno is packing now so he can leave right after work tomorrow. Any kid elementary age can miss a day. Even most middle and high schoolers. (coming from a mom who values education, but a mental health day for dad/mom is needed here- you’ll be super irritated driving up Fri so it’s in the best interest for all. Clearly she has a fever... the best kind)

    Here Danno, use this:

Is it radix panax notoginseng? - splat
This is like hanging yourself but the rope breaks. - DTM
Dude Listen to mtm. He's a marriage counselor at burning man. - subtle plague

I'm convinced. But it's all subject to negotiation.
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

I’m pulling kids from school on Friday and leaving Boulder before sunrise so I’m settled in WP before 8am work calls. Shaping up to be a fine weekend.

danno, as a single man with no kids who knows nothing of your life or your wife, I do understand that life decisions may not be as simple as they seem to me. but please, say fuck it and pull that child out of school, leave thursday after school, and ski some pow with the family. you don't need to give your kid chocolate cake for breakfast too, but it's not a bad idea.

i wish you well in the negotiations. it's gonna feel invigorating as you roll out of boulder thursday night and create lasting memories, instead of fighting back resentment and frustration the whole weekend thinking about what could have been. I guarantee the kid still gets into a decent college.

Or don't go at all and be one less car on the road.

I think an intimate family photography trip to the Pawnee National Grasslands during such epic conditions would be a wonderfully educational and bonding experience for the Danno's. His daughter must be burnt out by now, and a weekend off seems like it could be rejuvenating.

Well Loveland pass will likely be closed and some asshole trucker will likely block at least a lane without chains and spun out...so what is that 60:1 odds?

Friday concerts are for kids anyway. Just stay home.

Is it gonna be worth it to take tomorrow off, or is it gonna be a total shitshow even on a Friday? Obviously the roads are gonna be bad but I can deal with that as long as everyone else doesn't take off too and drive like idiots...

I'm just waiting for the shit post asking if now is a good time to put snow tires on because they prefer to have their nice summer tires on their Volvo wagon for their commute.

    Is it April yet?

I don't have any kids, but I didn't realize that pulling a kid out of elementary school for a day or a few was a big deal. We had a timeshare in Vail when I was a kid with a random week in Feb. I never went to school that week...

Has the stoke already turned to angst? I get it but it bums me out. Seriously. Wherever and whenever you get to where you are going, let's all take a collective bong hit and enjoy the day.

Friday is the new Saturday. Expect insanity. If is not, bonus. Saturday will be super soft leftovers. Remember, kids don't go to school on Fridays up here Grand County.

So yeah...temper your expectations and remember that your attitude is one of the few things you control.

Oh Simple...is the man holding you down? You should be staged in the normal spot by now.

Down in CB, the hotel front desk guy said that there were a ton of cancelations because of the incoming weather. My wife says "WTF? Why would anyone cancel a ski trip because of a snow storm?" That's my girl.
