A buddy of mine left Boulder at 745am (way too late), got to Barker Reservoir at 930am.

Skiing on the front range is really simple:

1. Ski on the weekdays
2. Walk the dog on the weekends

3. Never work a job.

I left highlands ranch at 5:40 yesterday morning and I made it to ABasin in 2 hours and 5 minutes.

Obviously on a day where it is dumping on the front range and in the mountains you should leave a little early. I drove cautiously and everyone else seemed to be driving cautiously as well. I think 2 hours given the conditions was pretty decent.

Tend to agree with this somewhat. I can see both sides.

They're trying to be funny to gain attention, which means awareness, which should ultimately lead to some behavior change by X number.

However, in this situation I don't think the the above mentioned will lead to a significant change. Enforcement and punishment works and has been a proven behavior changer. What we don't need are more snow plows holding up traffic at 20mph. What we do need are some goddamn educated and equipped drivers who can make it through a 1-6" snowstorm at a basic level. It should be expected that road closures and massive plowing would occur during actual big storms (6"+), but it's been a total disaster of a shit show on the days when it only snows 3".
