Look at the timing, they put this out a couple hours ago. This is what I mean by the filming thing. They mostly put out short clips like this.

I've ridden with everyone in the vid except for the chicks and they are all solid.

One of our interns from UVM mentioned the Mad Trees crew (out of Stowe maybe?), but I haven't found much that's decent other than what Highland puts out and random videos here and there.

After a couple weeks of riding smooth, flowy non-technical dirt around Jackson, finally found a trail yesterday that was rooty and rocky enough to bring the EC feel back to the bike... felt awesome! Just cant' get enough of feeling your tires bounce off every rock and root while you bang down the trail. Pure awesome.

Also glad to hear the STAB trails are getting some love. That is one big and demanding network up there, and is for sure the techy peer to Kingdom, which is so smooth it feels like spinning on a bike path for a lot of it. Is that one trail that's a long line of corners through that meadow starting to get ridden enough to have actual dirt and ridden-in corners?
As butta said, Hayride is the field and with so much better riding in the forest out of the sun it will never get bermie unless they use a machine. Between the mountain and off map riding in the area it kicks the kingdoms ass, hard. But you better bring your climbing lungs as it is not flat.
I watch a few clips here and there but really do not "follow" anyone.

This is a short video a young friend of mine did last fall, we'll probably shoot with him over the summer if schedules aline.

A friend of mine has talked about trying to do something this summer, but no one really has cameras. We aren't hacks, but no one from my normal crew is throwing down huge lines so its not always super exciting for others to watch.

I'd love to get involved and help do something in the Boston area, but its a matter of somehow making time and finding the right people.

Thom Parsons does a good job covering EC XC races through dirtwire: http://dirtwire.tv/ and is a solid dude.

Alright folks, I shipped one of my bikes out to Boston today and will be in town the 6-16th. I'd love if someone could show me around one day and would be willing to drive 2 hours or so from Boston to ride in VT. Think I am already going to Ascutney one day, so anything else is appreciated.

Gotcha. No shit on the climbing! I'd have to say that was the most demanding XC loop I'd ever ridden in New England as far as climbing goes, and the constant tech means you never get a break. I had ridden Pine Hill in Rutland the day before, and that felt like coasting in comparison.

Riley shoots some great angles although I could do without the slow intro/extensive commentary. Great shots though and I'd love to see anything he might do this summer! Hope you guys can get out... I know it's not easy. Now that trails are open here I can barely get myself to stop and take a photo of anything.

Here at TGR HQ we have a pretty big bike project we'll be announcing this summer but in the interim we definitely need to get some original bike videos up and running. Working to rally everyone together to do so with all the fancy cams we have here, especially since all the Teton Pass trails are right up the street!

Also thanks everyone for their suggestions/feedback.

And in the interest of contributing some NE bike stoke, here's a few shots from past seasons back home:

My little bro over at Pawtuckaway. The fuckfest of granite there was not a great surface for the uninitiated, and my brother eventually hurled my lender bike at a tree in frustration. Haha.

    Highland fall '12

Bikepacking/camping near North Conway fall 2012. My buddy/photog Max Santeusanio actually got a shot in the Bike Mag photo annual from this scene, which was insane, but I was passed out drunk in the tent after a night of campfire whiskey, so I can't claim "athlete credit" [sound of ego deflating]

Post up the when & where stuff. Got a few days in there to squeeze a little trip in maybe.

For a longer trip this summer I'm thinking STAB, N. Conway, and Highland. Highland is near 4 hours from me vs. 2 for Diablo. Doing it as a multi-day trip or two day thing is way more appealing.

Hoping to hit up Sunday River a day or two in early July. Will be up at the in-laws place about an hour away.

Any chance you want to share some of those sony action cams with us ECers? I know its been kinda tried before on the skiing side with limited success but maybe we could get a shared group edit of some sort. Pass it around from mag to mag for a couple weeks, have each one leave a few clips that are good then have someone put together a nice little vid at the end of the season. I'm down as long as no dubstep is used.

Little work on buffing out the mogul whoop dee doo section of the lunchtime ride.

I been using marking flags to set the new trails and sure enough someone decided to take them all. That was really nice of them

What are good resources of maps for the places mentioned above? I gather not a lot of riding on National Forest, but state parks, etc. Are you guys mostly using online resources or are there some good printed maps out there?

i was up in Plymouth, NH yesterday.
a new guy on a brand new, carbon SB-95 came out for the ride.
one mile into 'the gyro', he folded the front wheel under, and landed with all his weight about 165lbs on his frame with his knee!
the frame was destroyed, both the top and down tubes broken right in the middle. just think about that, fuck! he was hurting big time, rang his bell almost blacked out twice.
took a half hour to walk the mile out to the road. fucking scary stuff!
    never seen that one before.

whats funny is due to the increase traffic at Kingdom the trails are way rooty than they were 5 years ago when I first moved here. even with the Roots there are just so many flowly fast trails on darling hill, and the mountain when its not a mud pit is awesome as well. I like it better than STAB. I find STAB trail just so un flowly and yeah they are techinical but so are stowe/morrisville trails......which flow a ton a better.

I found the NEMBA website to be sparse on VT and NH riding.

Agreed. I don't know STAB very well, but unless I'm missing some huge sections, I vastly prefer the Kingdom....

You'll have better luck finding the good local info in the mtbr local boards, various local riding sites, and local facepage groups. That, and hooking up with locals that you meet while riding and hooking up with shop dudes will net you the best trail beta.

Trails out here tend to be spaghetti networks of loops. Lots of places either have no maps, or they are crappy, or limited to gps tracks from other riders. You just gotta' go ride and get lost.

Where in/around Boston are you going to be living/working? Hook up with other riders, and bring beer.

I think you probably have one of the best possible resources right here. Just don't ask us to post pics of riders wearing manpris ok?

Woah what a weekend! We spent it up in the Catskills at the NY NICA finals where my daughter went and kicked some ass! Second again
