Seen the stab is open and will likely find my way there soon, need me some Hall of Fame.
I would like to do a weekend at stab but absolutely not vmba weekend as I hate crowds and kitted out kooks. Early June for a mini would be fun.

Twas awesome last night, cool and quiet.

I will soon be a STAB and GMT chapter member myself, but can't ride trail 'till late July. I then, however, propose an early Aug STAB mini with a Windsor Station finale. Just throwin' that out there...

Disclaimer/caveat: haven't been to the Kingdom since 2001, and hit up STAB last year.

Ahem. I far preferred the STAB trails. More techy, fewer people.

Now, keep in mind, this is going on dated Kingdom knowledge. Further testing of the hypothesis is needed.

Go out for an awesome ride a Nepaug today. Can't believe I haven't been there before, the place is pretty rad. Surprisingly little uphill pedaling for all of the down you can find, me likely. Thanks to a tour from a local kid, we accessed the goods without no fuss. Despite the recent rain, the trails were in really good shape. Will be back for sure.

This roller looked way steeper in person, I swear.

Holy f'n mud! Took my daughter to do a practice lap where the NICA race is tomorrow and it's in the worst condition a trail could possibly be in. Sections hundreds of feet long with the deepest, thickest, grabbiest mud I've ever seen. I'm thinking she should ride my Fatboy...

Lots of people have been riding this season in not such ideal conditions this year. Lots of mudpits have expanded this year more than they have in the past.

Creek conditions were pretty prime today. Tacky soil, few wet spots still on dominion and lower breakout.

Salvation is just killing it this year

EDIT: Next weekend is the Pro GRT - Gwin and Neko should be there

Checking out STAB tomorrow and maybe Wompatuck Wednesday. Anybody been to either so far this year? Anything to avoid? Anything must ride? Haven't been to either before, but taking advantage of my week off to explore some new stuff.

Wompatuck is pretty good. When I'm down with the in-laws in Scituate I usually get a ride or two in there. The place is big and a total maze, though. Highly recommend you have a gps/phone so you can find your way home. Lots of fast pedaly riding, with one area called "drop zone" if I remember correctly with some smaller jumps and drops. Fun place to ride.

Rode a new little zone that Rog told me about for the second time last night. It's a freaking playground! The guy who has been developing it must be a stone mason based on his work. The lines he built to get up, down, across the boulders is really impressive. You need to know the line though... a couple are pretty unnerving.

There is an old overgrown dirt road for a small section and of course were on that all casual (after the techy stuff) looking at potential lines when I take a branch right thru the hole on my helmet and out the back then 'snap!' off the tree. Never saw it as I was looking to side, turned and bang! Scared the shit out of me. Thankfully it was just a flesh wound.

You ^^^ are so right. With the delayed leaf growth and cool temps the riding has been super all spring.

rode what might have been my driest Stowe town loops ride ever on tuesday followed by for sure the driest KTA ride I have ever done. Going out for a little rigid romp on the town loops before the rain.

Random question for you EC mags: are there are filmers / "production crew" / websites / content producers you guys follow for East Coast bike stuff? Being an NH guy I made a pretty solid effort to feature East Coast ski stuff on the site, but haven't found much in the way of bike content to share on the site. One of our interns from UVM mentioned the Mad Trees crew (out of Stowe maybe?), but I haven't found much that's decent other than what Highland puts out and random videos here and there.

After a couple weeks of riding smooth, flowy non-technical dirt around Jackson, finally found a trail yesterday that was rooty and rocky enough to bring the EC feel back to the bike... felt awesome! Just cant' get enough of feeling your tires bounce off every rock and root while you bang down the trail. Pure awesome.

Also glad to hear the STAB trails are getting some love. That is one big and demanding network up there, and is for sure the techy peer to Kingdom, which is so smooth it feels like spinning on a bike path for a lot of it. Is that one trail that's a long line of corners through that meadow starting to get ridden enough to have actual dirt and ridden-in corners?

^hayride is the trail down through mile long field, it gets cut three times a year.
so it's hard to really get a groove to stick.
it's the berm's and bench work that happened all over that network, this past winter and spring that have me stoked, big time!

Mcbp does some similar stuff to Highland. Event/new trail/trail crew vids.

Also seems to be a video from each of the gravity east dh series races thus far. Generally speaking these are all looking featured on pinkbike and vital as well. You guys need to produce some original mtb content.

I've ridden a couple times with a fellow UVMer who rips pretty good. He's rides a decent amount with the Mad Trees guys. If there was ever a group to put out some films/media it would be them. I think the problem there is they don't have cameras/filmers, but I could be wrong about that.
