Replacing Specialized Rear Shock w/ Brain w/ different shock?

My rear shock on my '10 Stumppy is about kaput and honestly I never really loved the shock/brain setup so a re-build isn't my first choice.....

I'd have replaced a while back but for the strange setup, especially the rear mount and the fact that it is a 7.875x1.9 setup which is basically a one-off.

    So:

Anyone done this? Seeing as how a 1.9" stroke is basically not made, would a 2" stroke vaporize my frame (carbon) assuming there is a way to adapt the rear mount? Am I stuck with this out of date shock for good?

    Thanks in advance. T

That bike you have was also available without the brain shock, so any fox made for the 2010 stumpy should fit… have your local shop call warranty or check with push. I can call for you if you strike out with your LBS.

PUSH or SEX is your best places for a rebuild or replacement. I found, on the webbernets, a few years ago a replacement shock for my 2010 Stumpy alloy frame. It is waiting for the day the original is kaput which may be this coming season.

Paging PoopGhost... he did the exact thing you're asking about, and I believe he likes the bike a lot more now that he did.

Heard good things about push, what is their turn around like time-wise? Been putting off any service as I ride 5 days a week and really don't feel like taking a few weeks off, especially if I can't even ski due to epic dry conditions in cali this year....

Diazsuspensiondesigns in Durango. I've had shocks rebuild/customized by push before with noticeable but small improvements. Anthony Diaz rebuilt the shock on my enduro last summer and the result was night and day... Absolutely unreal difference in riding. Fast turn around and good dude that gets it.

That's ANTHONY Diaz. I agree though, highly recommended.
