Putting pants on; zipped & snapped, just zipped, just snapped, or open?

My buddy is telling me you've got have 'em zipped and snapped, otherwise the fit goes to shit. I see lots of people dancing and wiggling to get into 'em that way, and it just doesn't make sense. I guess could see halfway, with just zipped though.

I suggested that he at least un-snap them, but he went apeshit and texted me for hours about ruining the performance of the pants and the fit was busted for all eternity.

I think he's nuts; none of those are the right answer. You are supposed to cut out the waistbands and replace them with sewn in sweatpant elastics.

Just wanted to get the collectives opinion on this.

This has been the most educational day of tech talk ever... I've learned more about pants, boots, buckles, zippers and their relationships than I imagined possible.
