Fuck naming them after some gay ass mtn range or shitty ski hill.

If you must go down that route try naming them after a memorable line THAT YOU HAVE SKIED in the range, eg/Spencer couloir (aiguille de blaitière), Ford/stettner on the Grand or any other couilor that has been named after its first ascentionist.

Failing that I vote 'Tom from Austria'

My cousin's middle name is Snow. I was always slightly jealous of that

but seriously, what happens if the kid doesn't like skiing. i wouldn't put that kind of pressure. just name her something nice and if she likes skiing all the better.

but we did look at many different languages name for snow, too.

Have we already forgotten the all mighty one???

Whatever you name him/her, their initials should be:

Good points. I'm not trying to make the kid a weirdo or anything.

To the guy who said I shouldn't do a mountain range unless I have a personnal connection - I felt the same way. Teton would be a cool name but I'm not from the Tetons and I've only been there a few times. But if you live in the Tetons, it would be pretty cliche. I'm from Tahoe and every girl is names Sierra so I'm staying away from that one. And a kid named Tahoe growing up in Tahoe would be pretty stupid. I think Teton might be an OK middle name or a dog name.

What do you guys think about Cirque for a girl? It's better than Saddle or Depth Hoar...

    Hahahaha!!!

I think Alta, Neve, and Lhotse are cool names for a girl.

And also, for serial, listen to ikkin. My middle name is a little town in Massachusets that has family roots, is completely weird and terrible sounding, and took forever for me to warm up to it.

But at least it's a *middle* name and I have a respectable, normal first name that looks reasonable at the top of a resume.

Consider naming your kid something normal for the FN, and putting this snow-inspired name where it can become an initial just in case the kid hates it, or grows up to be a snow-hating surfer, or whatever.
