Make sure you search all craigslist. Mine wasn't listed on the Denver site, but was just over I'm Glenwood.

I always found Skaddens claims a little over the top. Like that cat suddenly makes unnavigable water possible and it is only possible with that boat?

I also read some durability issues and his designs being more for light use.

An aluminum frame is pretty much maintenance free, will never rust and is much lighter.

The conclusion I came to was either buy a very lightly used PVC raft, or find a older Hypalon raft with no patches that was well maintained.

Then stick with either NRS or one of the local guys for your frame. You can always mail order stuff from NRS or you can drive to the local shops, which luckily are some of the best in the country.

Again, I just read every forum post and review I possibly could. This is my first raft as well.

If you want a fishing cat and could come up with another $600, this is a nice raft:

Just posted today. I would pull the trigger on that in a heart beat, especially if they are throwing in the trailer. $7,800 new:

And built locally. Riverboat works are good guys.

HikeforTurns, saw that Riverboat works cat sold, any chance you bought her?

On a side note, anyone have a suggestion on what kind of plywood and sealer to rebuild the top deck on my trailer with? Also want to replace the hinges becuase they bind when open past verticle (hinges are in the middle of trailer and don't have a step in them for the thickness of the plywood and screwed to the underside...hope I am explaining that right).

Nope, wasnt me. I ended up getting the scadden for $2,599 with a bunch of accessories. I think it will fit my needs pretty well at least for awhile. If I really get into the sport maybe I will want something more serious. Frame is aluminum with a lifetime warranty. I'll let you know how it goes! Hopefully I can take it out on some lakes this spring. It would be easy to flip it around into a mini zodiac with a small motor me thinks.

If anyone's looking to unload a trailer, let me know.

Awesome. Congrats. We should put together a maggot overnight float trip on the Colorado or Ark. Wonder if there is anywhere that would work pre-runoff that would be easy for us new rowers?

Thanks, pumped. That's kind of why I want to get out on some flat lake water at first. Theres a bunch of stuff out here on the eastern flats. One trip I hope to do this year is the Gunny from P Park to HWY 65 bridge.
