How to keep gopro from shaking?

I've had my hero 2 for two years now, and overall it's pretty awesome except for one thing. I have experienced lots of small shaking in the footage. One thing I tried to do to cure this was to wrap elastic bands around the camera, jamming it in. Still have some shakes. So in conclusion, how do you get your footage smooth like the clips they show on the go pro website?

I'm afraid we will never get footage like the ones gopro have!

Are you mounting on your helmet?

Use the little white rubber thingy. It's there to prevent shake. Look it up online if you don't know what it's for.

Wear a hat under your helmet and strap your helmet down tight.

Where are you mounting it? If chest good luck to you, I have never been able to get anything other than earthquake footage.

For the helmet I put one layer of electrical tape on the camera side of the mount. It's a major pain in the ass to side the mount out with cold hands but I have more or less eliminated all shake.

Well, this is bound to happen with Chesty mount.

But I like seeing my skis, AND where I'm going in my footage so I deal with it.

You could buy boots with a rubber bootboard, like some park boots or Lange RX series, get some beefy bindings still in your DIN range, and/or get a damp ski.

You should try the 960 shooting mode, way taller picture, not much sacrifice when it comes to quality either.

For the "shake noise" the rubber thing works. To get rid of shake, there isn't any good way. Ski smoother, use post-process image stabilization when editing (cuts out a ton of the video data and is constantly zooming in and out), or get a Sony Handycam, apparently it's got optical (ie. real, no downside) image stabilization.

You would know, being the head.

And I do shoot in 960, much better than 1080.

i've found that sticking the pointed end of a zip tie between the sliding camera mount and helmet base mount works good.
