Another go with the flow here. Visuals were amazing, must see in 3D. Best 3D movie I've ever seen.

Definitely some flaws in the physics, but damn, it's a movie and I was very entertained. If we're pointing out flaws, I'll point out that as she's trying to get into the Chinese station the atmosphere is ripping parts of the station off and creating massive amounts of drag on it, but doesn't seem to affect her at all.

I'll buck the trend here though and say I love Sandra Bullock. The fact that she has kind of a funky nose is just an endearing trait to me and sets her apart from some of the too-perfect people Hollywood passes off as normal. I would take her home and introduce her to my parents.

Finally saw this last weekend (I wanted to make sure I watched this in 3D). I'll agree with a lot of the points already posted. Amazing 3D and visuals, Sandra did a really good job in her part, Clooney = meh. A lot of liberties taken with the laws of physics and apparently all of the space stations/satellites are all on the same plane and only a few hundred miles apart until they get turned into shrapnel.
There were definitely some edge of your seat scenes. I love the one when Sandra's outside the Soyuz trying to detach the chute. You can see debris start to fly by in the background for quite some time before she starts to notice it. The debris just looks like quick little flicks on the screen as the pieces go by at a few thousand mph. I thought that was some pretty cool cinematography right there. The Space Station breakup was incredible.

Meadow skipper for the win. With the "Burn one" comment too...

I mean really people. "Wahhhhhh, that couldn't happen..." WTF? Why do you go to the movies??? To see only things that can absolutely, positively, happen in real life???

Sounds like a blast. You must wear enormous glasses, and NEVER get laid. Enjoy those titillating documentaries!

These are the same shitbags who are writing their Rotten Tomatoes or Facebook reviews in their heads (or even worse, on their phones) 1/3 of the way into the movie, and obsessing about how many "likes" they are going to get on their stunningly intellectual, snarky, and profound take on the film.

Anyway...I thought it was phenomenal. Gripping, and exciting as hell. Best suspense film I've seen in a decade if not longer...

And guess what? I don't know a whole lot of specific nerd stuff about space. Not necessarily because I'm an idiot, or a rube...but more along the lines of I LIVE ON EARTH, AND I AM NEVER GOING THERE!!!

Ha, I just made myself LOL. Awesome.

A good movie, even if Sci-Fi, will have me totally immersed in the movie. The physics and character motivation discrepancies interrupted my suspension of disbelief and brought me out of the movie several times which made it an OK movie. For those that didn't get pulled out, it would be a better movie than I watched.

I was expecting a movie depicting a realistic situation in orbit. Didn't get what I expected and you know what they say about expectations.

Gripping ans visually stunning movie for sure though

This movie was really called, Oceans 14: Oceans in Space. His next movie is Oceans 15: The Nazi Ocean, with Matt Damon stepping up to fill Brad Pitt's spot.

A movie depicting a realistic situation in orbit, would be called "The most boring movie that no one cares about...ever."

    Dickhead.

    Finally watched this last night.

Must have been impressive visually in 3d and on a big screen... but otherwise what a complete turd of a movie.

....and how the fuck does Bullock get an Oscar nomination yet Redford doesn't for All is Lost?
