    Dynafit liners

Picked up a pair of Dynafit boots on SAC for my wife. I have heated several pair of liners in the past using both the oven and the hot water turkey bag method, successfully. The boots have a tag on them that specifically cautions NOT to try to heat them in an oven, is there a specific reason or are they just trying to keep dumb-nuts from ruining them?

Some Dynafit boots came in diff versions with moldable (TF) or not moldable (MF) liners. If you post more details about the boot or a pic of the liner maybe one of the more Dyna-savvy people here can figure it out.

Definitely moldable, the instructions say do not mold in a conventional oven but only by a Dynafit dealer. I have had plenty of experience molding with rice, turkey bags and ovens with success, I find a 220 oven for 15 minutes is perfect. Thoughts?

Even non moldable liners can be "molded" or manipulated.

Dfit needs to just spec Intuitions in their shells.

220F in a convection oven will yield some results.

Might wanna have her try them on for fit before heating, either next pair or in future. I haven't seen the new ones(more choices = usually a +) but the older(3seasons + ago) Zzero TF Highs were terrific just warming up with hair dryer on low(mostly airming at cuffs)...if the fit is great they're comfy enough as they are. ...And another fwiw..I have been able to perform a downhill tongue transplant onto mine....but hope Dynafit & Intuition will come around with comfortable but solid tongues...shaped, not just a painfully(for us high-plateau guys) flat piece of hard plastic.

The liners are TFX, Thermoformable Durable Liner.

Many manufacturers specify heat stacks instead of a convection oven to minimize chances of melting or delaminating reinforcing plastic or traction soles on liners. It also lessens the chances of creating a wrinkle or fold in the liner when the upper cuff remains cool and stable. Liners without sewn or glued on layers like the thinner TLT5/DyNA/PDG ones (or Intuition liners) work great in the oven but it takes a little more skill to get them in symmetrically and without wrinkles.

Pretty sure they don't recommend oven moulding those liners is because the material on the sole and around some of the high wear areas will peel away.

Thanks, there is an answer I can understand. I think I will go with the reliable turkey bag / hot water method.
