Fuck no. I watched some of the trial live then watched and read the daily summaries. I had no vested interest in that local crime other than the Civil Liberties aspect, and certainly had shit to do between 8 and 5 that didn't involve watching MSNBC, FNC, or CNN.

Zimmerman is an idiot, let's be sure of that. But he did not start the physical altercation that led to the shooting. That was our buddy Trayvon.

-in most civil societies the person initiating the contact is the person who started "the altercation." This may be hard for you to grasp but had Mr. Zimmerman not gotten out of his car and confronted Mr. Martin then the latter would still be alive today. Martin didn't initiate contact with Zimmerman.

-whoever said that the Defense never based their argument on FL "Stand Your Ground" law is retarded, so we can drop that. The defense said that Zimmerman shot and killed Martin in self defense, and due to that stupid law it didn't matter that Zimmerman initiated the events leading to the shooting.

-no, Martin wasn't the little Saint his parents, friends, etc. were portraying to the public. None of us are. Doesn't mean he needed killin' tho, do it?

-to the window-licker that is implying that Martin was trying to make sizzurp... where was the codeine and where was the Sprite? That aside, who gives a fuck WHAT he was going to do with the skittles? If you only watched some of the trial there's a good chance you missed most of the stuff concerning the actual laws.

Yes, Zimmerman started the verbal altercation, Martin could have easily walked away... Instead of being the thug that he was.

The defense never called upon the "Stand Your Ground" law during the trial. There was another somewhat high profile case during the same time period that did.

Can't comment on whether he was trying to make anything with what he was carrying, that shouldn't matter at all. Again, Zimmerman was an idiot, but that does not make him guilty of anything, profiling is not illegal, you can cry about it all day. People profile every single day, this one just had an unfortunate twist tied to it.

If you really want to complain about something it would be Zimmerman having the gun in the first place. Guarantee you if didn't have one he never would have gotten out of the car at all. But that is a whole different can of worms that I don't want to open.
