Every single park rat trick is a direct decendent from this guy. Two Olympic medals and he was the 1st person ever to do a front flip on skis.

He lives part time in the summer up here in Montana these days. Supposedly a real good fly fisherman.

    Hope he gets better.

    The Werewolf of Oslo?

Hope he gets better soon. The guy was the predecessor to all that was freestyle/freeskiing.

I still remember him Doing Back and front flips off a Kicker they built for him @ (Ski Incline) in 1971. I guess around that time he just kinda toured around doing jumps at Different resorts?

But I still remember that day

He is getting on in years, But I would like to visit A ski resort some 13 or 14 years from now and watch Stien ski at 100 years old.

Saw him skiing under the chair at Sugarbush in '65 or '66. Unmistakable from 300 yards away. Coming right at us and passing underneath. He was running gates.....It was like seeing God, god, Buddah, Vishnu or whatever you worship................minus 20 and he was wearing the sweater and no hat...................

Or is it just remains from vibrations, and echoes long ago?

    Born 12/11/1927, Stein would've been 96 tomorrow.
