How about a couple central defenders? 3-5-2 doesn't seem to be working. Should have bought David Luis and/or never let Vidic go. I'm no ManU fan, nor am I a hater, but it's certainly interesting to watch the implosion.

Newcastle needs a couple attackers. Going to be a tough season if they don't score goals. Torres would suit me fine. I bet he's a good value when he's finally sold. Glad we got rid of Andy Carroll. Wish we'd kept Demba Ba.

    Torres!? Really???? This guy???

He's such a disaster that it's not even funny. Strikers are all about confidence and he's been so horrendous for so long that I don't think he'll ever regain his. Even on a free transfer, he wouldn't be worth the wages you'd have to pay him

Just saying he might do better at a new club.

We also need a big lad. Shearer type. Carroll failed. Ba left.

newcastle need a new coach, pardew pissed away any credibility last year when he went nuts. they also need a new owner.

ManU will be driven into the toilet by the Glazer crooks. By force of personality - and aura - Fergie held it together well past the day.

Not impressed with England. Rooney captain? Meh. Can you start the captain on the bench?

Ivan Rakitic is a stud! Fantastic signing by Barca.

eta: real dropping 2 in a row makes me happy

Edit #2: DiMaria is going to destroy the prem league. Dude is too good.

Holy shit! There were some serious episodes of "shitting the bed" as we called it. Horrendous (but he is still a hell of a player).

Real Madrid looking likely to defend the title with that potent offense.

"Likely" may be a bit strong after one group stage game - at home - vs Basel, no?

More likely than a lackluster Barca at home 1-0 vs Apo-fucking-el ;-)

Then Porto must be "super-duper likely" to win it all after a 6-0 win.

Yeah, Barca didn't look great, but it doesn't really matter. They made 9 changes from their weekend lineup, kept a clean sheet, and got a win.

And yeah, Madrid have an awesome squad (who have looked like shit until Tuesday) and may very well win the CL again.

My point, however, was that nothing is "likely" after the first game of the group stage. The finals are a long, long way away.

FKN England unimpressive v San Marino in the first 45.

A scrappy corner and a PK is all we can muster against the lowest ranked team in the world? Hope we don't have to play Bhutan....
