Why would the Bluto work any less/more decently than any other fork in the cold? Speed up your rebound a bit, toss in some lighter oil during an oil swap pre/mid-winter and fucking ride your bike. I don't get why this fork would/will have more issues than other forks.

Wasn't cold! The skinny is narrower than my tires.

Exactly that - trail markers. When the leaf cover comes down around here, places that don't get a lot of traffic can have the trail obscured supah wicked fast. Many of the legit places have paint dots here and there. Different colors for different loops. This place has red, black, yellow, green, blue, and white loops. No big deal when you know the place, but it makes it easy to navigate for someone who has never been there.

It's sort of ridiculous in this place though ~7 miles of singletrack crammed into a small town park under 200 acres. Get lost? Pick a direction and you'll hit a road...

Just posted up Bluto for sale, it's in perfect condition - just not my preference.

Rode with the new carbon fork and fenders and frame pack and front tire (Surly Bud) yesterday. Nate on the way for the rear. The stock Vee8's aren't terrible until any type of snowy incline.

got a bud and lou for my '14 kona wo. Bud fits great in the front, lou, not so much in the back, tons of tire rub.

any suggestions for a similar tread pattern, in something 4.5" or less. 4.8" is just not going to work on this bike.

Looking for a snow tire, more than dry weather.

Saw the Bucksaw and Ice cream truck live for the first time yesterday. I'll take one of each. They can't keep the Bucksaw or the Fatboy pro in stock...large that is.

Bucksaw really seems like a game changer for trail dirt riding. I know that's already been said, but seeing it for the first time it really hit home.

My Buzzsaw rides a lot like my Stumpy only twice the tourqe and traction. The fact that Salsa brought DW on board to help with the design meant they were serious about making a great bike.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd like that! I'm all over the map with bike wants. Similar to my ski quiver wants. It's definitely wrong...thankfully I have two boys that are now 6-6'+ and can justify some extra gear as 'shared'.

Upgrading the components on the Wo to X9 since what came on it is pure shit. Would have gone X7, but it was an availability thing for all components from one place. I'm only going so far with upgrades on that bike, but I'll probably keep it forever. The price was right.

This year it comes with 10-spd deore and a clutched SLX rear derailleur so I'm guessing you have the year before with 9-speed.

My shop has a couple of them for demos, need to take one for a spin when the conditions aren't re-frozen slush.

This yrs is quite a bit better and not a big price increase. Tubeless compatible rims/lighter, derailleur like you said, better brakes, little different frame, no stupid wraparound handlebars and overall lighter. Seems like a good value.

An inch or so of fresh on frozen ground, also on 1-2" coral reef, and rogue ice patches is just a blast on the fatty! So fun riding techy snow covered features on essentially flat tires and just rolling that shit!! Fat bikes have saved me from my EC skiing blues when we don't get the snow! FKNA

Looking at two bikes - help me decide. I'm planning to ride snowmobile trails mostly, so I'm looking for something that can handle a 5" tire. Boris = longer chainstays, aluminum frame, thru-axle in front, SLX drivetrain

Woo! That is definitely saying Fkit! Those are sweet tires though.

I finally got a fat tire air gauge yesterday and realized I had run with 3lbs in the rear on my Sunday ride! Didn't even check the front yet. I went super low due to the dusting covering all the ice. It's very mixed right now with ice, 2-3" base, and just frozen ground. The place I rode was super techy and all I cared about was traction. Couldn't believe the climbs I made...and I was running flats, not spds...again because of hidden ice worries.

Fat bike are so damn fun!

Sure would like some snow for the ski season though.
