Methinks you didn't get it. It was supposed to be campy and jingoistic.

i see it as that but the problem is that i also see it as a bad scifi movie that could have been really good without that.

i always think of cult films as being either a little messed up (drugs, sex, violence, dark humor) and/or something to see a little messed up. usually why they are played at midnight movies. also good sick day movies. just last week i was down with stomach flu and watched heavy metal and wizards back to back.

Caligula is a porn movie with Malcom McDowell. "A Clockwork Orange" or "If" or even "O Lucky Man" are far more worth the investment. just watch some gangbang pron to make up what you missed.
