    ipod photo question

Anyone pick one of these up? I have the original clunky 5gig ipod that has recently died. Actually it still works but has a battery life under an hour. Plus my 15gigs of songs don't fit on it. Anyway, i'm lookin to upgrade before my euro trip and was wondering if anyone had any good things to say about the new ipod - is the photo one really worth it?

If you have some extra cash after the purchase, pick up the $99 Shuffle as sort of a supplement to your bigger one. You may find that you'll use it more than the I Pod, expecially when skiing/whatever outside. Next to nothing in size, and battery life is real long (12 hours plus, and they have an external AA battery pack which gives you 20 more). 8 hours of music - how much more do you need for the day?

$60-80 gets you a new battery.

I say skip the photos, unless you want to slideshow your ski steeze or you need portable-porno for the road trip. the screen aint that big for photos anyway.
Only decent use is ripping dvd movies into mini movies to watch on the road, but again that screen is tiny.
