XTR shadow plus - working for you?

So over time I've been migrating from SRAM to Shimano, mostly because the shadow 10 spd stuff combines the low profile Shimano derailleur with close to 1:1 shift ratios. Thinking of getting an XTR drivetrain for the upcoming bike build. My understanding is that the XTR 'plus' stiffer clutch is not only switchable from on to off, but in the 'on' position the amt of back force can be finetuned easily (on the XT you can open things up and bend a spring or something like that to accomplish the same thing but less conveniently).

Also hearing that the right balance of back force (for less chain slap) to ease of shifting can vary from bike to bike. This will probably go on a VP2 bike or maybe a turner DW.

What have been your experiences with this?

Can't comment on XTR...but my SLX Shadow+ kicks ass.

I certainly won't run anything other than Shadow+ now that I've got it.

What bike do you have it on? 2X10?

Running it on my Xprezo Super-D.

    single pivot.
Xt 2x10 cranks. Front is running 36t and 26t, back is usually 11-36 but I have a spare wheel on in the pic with 11-34.

I had major chain drop / mangle issues before getting it. Chain was a bit long and always coming off. Twisted a few chains into preztels before getting the Shadow+. Now with Shadow+ everything is pretty sweet. Maybe a couple dropped chains in 5 months of good thrashing, before it was multiple dropped chains per ride.

Same here, best $100 upgrade ever. Whole Enchilada with no chain guide and didn't drop one chain.

Running the stock tension, haven't messed around with it at all. '11 Reign, 24/34/bash front, 11-36 rear. Haven't noticed the thunking some people report with clutch RDs.

I have the XT shadow+ and love it. I run a 22/36/bash with 11-36 rear on a Yeti 575. I do notice the downshift is a bit louder than the XT shadow that I previously ran. Though I figure that just comes with the extra friction/tension from the clutch And much less chain drop or slap.
