Front Range Trail Conditions

I was wondering if Mt Falcon or Chimney Gulch would be good to ride by Saturday. My family and I are headed to the FR to see Anthony Bourdain on Sunday night in Boulder. Wondering if anything will be rideable or if I shouldn't bother packing all my bike stuff. I was thinking those two have good exposure for melting out quick.

I'm a few blocks from Chimney and we got 8" yesterday.
Even if it melts off I'd think it will be muddy.

grskier, I think your best chance will be to ride up in Lyons (Hall, Heil, etc). I don't know how much snow they got, but I live in Niwot and we only got a few inches of snow yesterday. Those trails have been drying out a lot faster than the southern metro trails this spring.

I wouldn't get your hopes up though, I think most of the foothills got a good bit of snow from yesterday's storm. Check the conditions thread on MTBR, there are a few guys on there that update conditions pretty regularly.

I think I can muster a 45 minute drive from Boulder city limits to ride on Saturday, maybe Sunday (if this bike transaction goes through). Will there be any options? I know that actually leaves very few rides..... as everyone knows mountain biking IN boulder is scarce.

I don't think you'll get much trail riding in within 45 min of Boulder this weekend. 14" at the Heil TH and south Boulder as well means most areas are out.

^^^Don't really know, but their FB page has the most up-to-date info. If you check Fri night or Sat morning you'll probably have an idea of whether any of it will be open for the weekend.

I bet Devils Backbone in Loveland will be dry and rideable by Saturday. They didn't get nearly the snow that Boulder did... it's probably 35-45 minutes north of Boulder using some of the backroads (HWy 36 to Hwy 66 to 75th).

DBB is a super fun trail... start from the main Devil's Backbone TH and go out to Blue Sky and do the Indian Summer loop, it's around 11-12 miles.
