pretty damn good weekend. skied the resort on Sunday and found some fun. apre in the parking lot. kind of like traveling back in time for the Vail contingent. then we headed back to the lodge to await the rest of the crew. many many beers were consumed. as was mr_gyptian's special lasagna. good fuel.

the cat trip was interesting. the guides, nice enough guys, didn't feel the need to intro themselves or know any of our names. it was pretty cavalier. about four slides went off right below us and they/we just kind of laughed and skied around it. the terrain is pretty tame, but full of rocks. trees were where the best snow was found.

they bought berthoud's CAT. a vast improvement on last year's.

a damn good time with the largest fast group of skiers I've ever had the pleasure to ski with.

For the pictures you want to attach, right click you mouse on the picture, cut and paste (this we know you can do) the properties in between a set of {IMG}, {/IMG} pairs, replacing '{' with '[' and replacing '}' with ']'.

    Thus:

I appreciate the ski subject anyway.

    Ahhh, Monarch
Did you get a chance to make it over to Gunbarrel- the one that ends in the parking lot? Not the longest run, but a good one that holds some North facing snow.

When I lived in CO, each year they'd have the Rocky freestyle comps at Monarch, it would dump 2-3 feet the day before and we get a full day to rock out in the powder. Then they used to tow us up on comp days along that top ridge to the start. Sweet venue- ended in the parking lot where everyone would be hanging out with bbq's and trucks, honking horns as competitors took their runs. Cause after it dumps in CO, it's always a nice bluebird the next day

actually ducked into the trees skier's left of it. Gunbarrel was bumped out.

I guess they'd opened some terrain at the top to the looker's left. under the power lines( snow locusts). minimal turns, but good snow.

apparently next year they'll be opening that dragon's teeth type terrain for the cat skiing.

    Nice pics!

I'd black out your license plate number in the pic before the liberals here send Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow Coalition to your house.
